Eastgate immediately took the lead in his heat thanks to his aggressive style, followed by J.C. Tran. Tran then took the lead when they were playing heads up and then caught Eastgate when he tried to steal the pot with his last chips.
In the other heat Tony G and Tom Dwan were the two best players. And when these two ended up heads up Tony G was the stronger player and won the heat.
