Today the European Poker Tour makes a stop in the capital city of Czech republic, Prague. The tournament will be played between 9 - 13 December at the Hilton hotel in Prague and the max capacity of participants has been set to 600. The buy-in for this tournament will be €5000 and all players will start with 10,000 tournament chips each. The crew behind the tournament hope that the this years prize pool will beat last year's prize pool of around $3.5 million dollars.
The European Poker Tour (EPT) started back in 2004 and has since then been a very popular televised poker tournament played all around Europe. In 1st-3rd season however the difference in prize pool and buy-in compared to other popular televised tours like WPT (World Poker Tour) were really big. Therefore EPT changed to a higher buy-in (around €8,000) in season 4 and this created bigger prize pools which attracted more famous poker players and TV viewers.
