On Saturday it's finally time for 2009 WSOP Main Event final table, and it's these 9 players who are going to fight for the first prize of $8.5 million and the World Champion title.
Darvin Moon - 58,930,000
Eric Buchman - 34,800,000
Steven Begleiter - 29,885,000
Jeff Shulman - 19,580,000
Joseph Cada - 13,215,000
Kevin Schaffel - 12,390,000
Phil Ivey - 9,765,000
Antoine Saout - 9,500,000
James Akenhead - 6,800,000
For a long time it has been possible to bet money on the November 9 finalists. Lowest odds are on Darvin Moon who has almost double the stack than Erik Buchan on second place. However, according to polls on different poker forums, Phil Ivey is the one people believe will take home the tournament, and some previous WSOP champs thinks the same...
The WSOP crew recently asked previous WSOP winners who they think will win the final table. Most of them kept Ivey and Buchman as big favorites, when a few of them thought that Moon's huge chip lead will give him the win.
Doyle Brunson's money is on Moon
Doyle Brunson had Phil Ivey and Jeff Schulman as favorites to win, until Daniel Negreanu came into the picture with a prop bet.
"Well, I thought I would be pulling for Phil Ivey and Jeff Shulman at the WSOP final table. But when Daniel wanted to bet Ivey over Moon, I had to take Moon who has 5 times the chips of Ivey. It is a must-win bet so probably we won't have action. Sorry Phil, I won't be rooting for you now. Business is business."; Doyle Brunson writes in his blog.
