Phil Hellmuth's own publishing house has just released a new book called "Deal Me In". The book is about 20 poker players, their way to success and their lives before making it pro. Players like Doyle Brunson, Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu and Scotty Nguyen's life time storys are included in the book.

The new book "Deal Me In" is not a poker strategy book, but a book that tells the story about 20 poker players and their way to success and their lives before becoming pros. For example one can read that, Phil Ivey, one of the best poker players in the world, used to work with telemarketing before he became pro. Phil has won more than $10 million only from playing tournament poker, how much he has won in cash games, we can only speculate in.

These are the 20 players you can read about in the new book "Deal Me In"
Doyle Brunson, Allen Cunningham, Phil Ivey, Phil Hellmuth, Peter Eastgate, Scotty Nguyen, Johnny Chan, Chris Ferguson, Carlos Mortensen, Tom Dwan, Howard Lederer, Daniel Negreanu, Annie Duke, David "Devilfish" Ulliott, Chad Brown, Annette Obrestad, Erik Seidel, Layne Flack, Jennifer Harman and Chau Giang.

I think it is a fun book, but the audience are poker players (I guess) and I think they will prefer a strategy book over a book you read for fun. Or maybe there is some kind of weakness to be found in there lifestory's. But I'm not yet at the moment that I play against them, so not for me I guess, altough I think it could be interesting.

It is an excellent idea! A different kind of poker book, instead of speaking about strategy (we can found thousands of them) this one show us the previous lifes of this poker stars! I am curious to read this book. One great idea from the publishers!

I think it sounds good and I may buy it.

I've read enough strategy books and watched enough training vids to last me a while so this may make for a pleasant change.

Since what you do off the table effects how you play on it there may be some good things to learn anyway.

Things about preparation, good mind set, approach to the game, things that maybe more useful to me anyway.

Sounds great. Sometimes you need to relax your strategy reads to open your poker decission process to new ideas, and this kind of books are perfect.

Can't wait to put my eyes on this book. I think i am not going to wait and see if it is edited in portuguese and buy it from the net. I'm interested in get to know Cunningham's life before poker. Its one of the most recent stars in the book should be similar to many of us. Student, part time worker, living in parent's house, etc. Can you imagine the day you will say: "one night my online poker account went from $10 to $300,000 because of my first place at X Tournament", hmm? It should be a great feeling... perhaps one day i feel somehing like this! Big Smile

dunotra, might be a while for torrent site to upload an ebook. I've been waiting a while for Gus Hansen's ebook but I can't find it.

Anyway, the book sounds interesting but you can probably find their bio's/stories online.
