HighStakes: The unknown Swede takes on "durrrr" once again

The unknown Swede, "martonas", hasn't been around for very long, but he's already a feared player at the highest stakes. He has won around $1,000,000 since he started playing with the alias "martonas" at Full Tilt poker. Most of the money he has won has come from Tom "durrrr" Dwan. Yesterday these two played against each other once again, and "durrrr" finally got his revenge since their last heads-up session.

Yesterday there was some crazy action going on at Full Tilt's high stakes tables. "durrrr" and "martonas" played heads-up for almost 12 hours straight. The swings were sick, but also very entertaining for those who watched. The pots in this heads-up match many times landed on $400,000 and more. At one point, "martonas", won over 1 million dollars in just 20 minutes from "durrrr". But even though "martonas" won so much money in such a short time, it was "durrrr" who dominated. "durrrr" was up between 2-3 millions against "martonas" for a while. "durrrr", decided that he had enough of poker after playing almost 24 hours straight. Probably he had a very good sleep after this long session since he had won $1,300,000. "martonas" in another hand had no plans on stop playing. He played some great poker against Phil Ivey, Lars Luzak, and Patrik Antonius. Thanks to this, he ended the day when he was "only" $859,000 minus. Even though he lost a lot, he managed to win back over $2 million after that he and "durrrr" ended their session. Quite an impressive achievement!?

Who's hiding behind the alias "martonas"?

In a lot of forums on the internet this question has been talked about frequently the past week. Many people think that the unknown Swede might be either Martin "Knivben" De Knijff, or Jonas "Nebuchad" Danielsson. Both of them for sure have the money and the skill to play with these stakes and against these players. But, I still have my doubts! I took a closer look at Jonas "Nebuchad" Danielsson's blog to find some signs on him being "the unknown Swede". After doing this, I find it even harder to believe that it's him playing under the alias "martonas". I mean, his blog has been all about traveling, girl friends, and other things that have nothing to do with poker since he got back from Las Vegas (WSOP). The unknown Swede remains unknown.

Thats a bit unfair as he is playing better than durrrr the supposed master, if it wasen for a little tilt he would have dominated yesterdays sessions.
Plays all day 3-5 tables with agian "the master" and only loses 800k.
You gotta give him some credit.

Don't think he can have such days to often. A 860K loss will put a hole in most bankrolls. But he IS back at the moment.

anyone with a good bankroll can play against durrrr, the "Master" looses his concentration when he starts loosing money

thats just crazy poker, with pots reaching 400,000$ lol. but durrr will be very relieved after he won back the money he lost to him earlier.
i bet tht guy is surely gonna stay for a long time on high stakes

Everybody wants to know who is martonas, including me. I have been making some research about swedish professional players and i came up with one interesting name that has great probabilities of being the man behind this alias. He plays for 22 years, 13th in 2002 WSOP, 15th n WPT series 1... Besides being a good high stakes poker player, you can judge through the similarities between his name and this alias. To me, martonas is Martin de Knijff.

Iv seen so many names saying who martonas is, and with good resons, but the only thing that people seam to be sure on is martonas is a male, why or how do people come to that conclusion?

If some rich dude gave us micro players, say $10.000.000 to play with, then these guys wouldn't be worth mentioning.

A collummnist writer I know did some research, but he is convinced martonas is female .
