Yesterday the Main Event of EPT Deauville started. A remarkable field of 339 players took part in Day 1a of the tournament. The tournament organizers believe that Day 1b, which starts today, will see a bigger number of participants. In other words, it seems like there will be a huge prize pool this time.

Anyhow, even though Day 1a attracted a lot of players, there were not many familiar faces.
In the lead after Day 1a is Robert Cezarescu. He will bring 216,900 chips with him to Day 2 of the tournament. On 2nd and 3rd place are Vladimir Geschkenbein with 155,000 chips and Martin Kabrhel with 152,200 chips. 198 out of 339 players made it to Day 2 of the Main Event.

It would be great if the article would contain info about the prize pool and the grand prize for the winner. But if 2/3 of players make it to the next day then it has been a good start with lot of busts.

many players must be playing in aussie millions so maybe few participants will turn up for this but still decent no of players on day 1a.
