Difficult to use MasterCard in the U.S.

Posted on 05 February 2010 by "T".

There are plenty of options when it comes to depositing money into a poker account these days. Credit card, Neteller, Moneybookers, bank transfer etc. The list could be made really long. However, the easiest and fastest way of depositing money is usually with a credit card. We'll, not if you live in the U.S.

MasterCard has figured out the method of uncoding gambling transactions for U.S. customers. This will most probably cause a lot of problems for U.S. poker players and poker sites accepting U.S players since Neteller and many other depositing methods already have been blocked. This is not the first time MasterCard has found out the uncoding process. First time, however, it only took online gaming sites about 2 months to find a way to get around the problem. It will be interesting to see what they do this time.

now its even more trouble for us players.
for most of them this was the only way of depositing money and now it has also been blocked they might struggle to find an alternative.

Bad times for players from the US. This will drive off the recreational players even more.

Am I wrong, isnt the law in the USA say that there is no using credit cards, wire money, ect to gambling sites except of course horse racing LOL, BUT It does NOT say that people In the United States cant play poker or gamble its just the putting money on thru your bank or credit card, ect., My opinon is there are many ways these poker sites could change the way they do things, I dont want to say what it is at the moment, I hate giving them my idea and then get shut out of it, It could be done without Bank, Wire, Transfer, Credit and all those options they use, I just dont understand when it comes millions of dollars there top managers have a IQ of a goat, go figure

Wasn't it during the bush administration that poker became illegal in the US? Still hoping for the day when online poker will be legal in the US. they are losing a lot of business because players are giving their business to other foreign countries...

I'm really glad that I live in Portugal Tongue But that sucks to US players, good luck to them.

BhStaljin... not our problem?
Think of the all US players/donks who deposit once in while to loose it for fun cause they don't care of that cash and play only for fun...
And now they will be unable to play (cause they play for fun it's possiblity they won't care about looking for new way if it's hard).
Rlly annoying things... they saying people have their own free will ... so what the hell much country block sites/things for their own people.... more and more.

as much as I'd love to laugh at the U.S here.. Australia is in the process (long process at least) of implementing ISP level internet filtering which VERY easiy could inc poker sites.. That would suck balls big time.

Still, I laugh a little.. there's just something about the U.S screwing itself and seeing whinging yanks on forums for once not getting everything on a plate.. for once being excluded.. it has a certain charm

Hehe, they want to bring freedom to the world and even do not grant freedom to their citizens
 jevo09/02/2010 02:56:07 GMT
What exactly caused them to bring in this law? I invisage ques of people outside court rooms all over america filing for bankruptcy.

When Visa and Mastercard do this, the process can effect Canadian and Mexican players as well. Sometimes being neighbours kinda sucks.
