HighStakes: 2010's most successful players

Tags: 2NEKOTYAN, Alex PostflopAction Konstritsyn, Di Urindanger Dang, Illari Ziigmund Sahamies, Tom durrrr Dwan.
Posted on 02 April 2010 by "T".

3 months have now passed on the new year. One must admit that the action at the high stakes tables has been over the expectations so far. This, even though Isildur1 hasn't been playing as crazy as last year. Anyhow, here are 2010's TOP 5 Winners.

1. Tom "durrrr" Dwan

Dwan was running quite good last year until he ran into Isildur1. 2010 has started in the best possible way for the american poker pro as he has won $3,970,484 in just about 130k hands.

2. Illari "Ziigmund" Sahamies

The Finnish PLO expert Ziigmund has been running extremely good this year. He was up $3.2 million not long ago, but then had a cold session against Dwan and is now up $2,059.061 after 41k hands.

3. Alex "PostflopAction" Konstritsyn

His name and surname might not be familiar to you, but you must have heard about "PostflopAction"? He plays at the highest stakes at Full Tilt poker and he's an expert at PLO and HORSE. Normal holdem is something he seems to avoid/dislike. Anyhow, "PostflopAction" is up $2,017,888 after 67,383 hand played.

4. 2NEKOTYAN

Some people call "2NEKOTYAN" the Russian Isildur1. Well, they both showed up at the high stakes in the middle of 2009, however, "2NEKOTYAN" has never created any headlines because he was a losing player in the beginning. 2010 has been a much better year for him though. "2NEKOTYAN" has won $1.933,214 (37,503 hands) this year and he's for sure someone we will hear a lot more about this year.

5. Di "Urindanger" Dang

The American Di "Urindanger" Dang is on forth place in the list over poker players who have won the most money ever(the all-time-list). "Urindanger" has won $1.892,119 (96,135 hands) this year and most of the money comes from playing Pot Limit Omaha.

durrrr has started this very well and won lots of money but he has habit of going on a losing streak now and then.
but never heard of Alex and Urindanger , lets see if they can maintain their good run

High stakes seems to be dominated by PLO these days. I can see why the pros would prefer it, with much smaller preflop edges playing tight wont get you as far as in any non deep stacked holdem games.

Still to early in the year to say anything.

Last year Gus Hansen was up a few million early on, but finished the year with a few millions down.

Durr on high stakes poker season six is sick. He hasnt made a single bad move yet. He has hit a lot but he has also made good value bets and good bluffs along with never paying anyone else off.

but never heard of Alex

He is another Russian prodigy. Won Aussie's Millions in 2008. Defeated in heads-up Erik Seidel.
Correct spelling is Alexander Kostritsyn. He plays on Poker Stars as well under the alias "joiso".

Yes, Alex is not really that unknown... sure he's must known under his online nickname than his real live name but as mentioned above he won the Aussie Millions main event and what brought his name in the poker world.

Tom Dwan is a genius

He is one of the best players in the world. Very deliberate in everything he does, and he is so good that it doesnt matter much what he has. he can 3 bet bluff, float and check raise bluff on the river. reminds me of stu ungar

I think it's too early, because they can have a swing in a few days and loose all that. Happens all the time.
