High Stakes: Viktor Blom lost $867k last week

The action at PokerStars highest stakes hasn't calmed down even though Christmas is just a few days away. And last week we got to see Viktor "Isildur1" Blom, Ilari Sahamies and other poker wonders battle it out on PokerStars nosebleed tables.

Blom made an amazing comeback on PokerStars 2 weeks ago and won an amazing $1,5 million in 2 days, which also made him one of the biggest winners this year. But Blom ran out of luck last week and lost $867,2126. A lot of money, but he's still about $500k plus this month and also one of the biggest winners.

The biggest winner of last week ended up being the German Ronny "1-ronnyr3" Kaiser, with about $625k in winnings. Terje "Terken89" Augdal came on second place with $316k won, closely followed by Ville "V Wahlbeck" Wahlbeck from Finland who got away with $315k. Below is a list of the top 5 winners and losers of the previous week.

unfortunately has week is not ours, it is difficult to get out once you begin losing and starts beating the will to recover, personally I think the great player is one who has the perception that it is time to stop, but lucky for the kid next week

ha! could that be true? funny to hear about. why should he use one, I thought PS would be so strict in punishing those. Maybe things aren´t that criminal if proms are doing it?
BTW I am feeling poor and unworthy when reading about these large stakes these guys shooting at the tables in only one week. For me 867K would for sure last for one month! Big Smile

Blom is winning a more or less a million per week in the last days of the year. And after winning one million last week, “Blom blow”!!! Will he continue this way in 2012? I bet he isn’t wishing that, but things never run good for him in the beginning of the year. He is more like a player that runs after the negative results. But maybe this time will be different, it’s a year that is a pair number (in some cultures, that means luck) and maybe he manages to keep the good work in January, taking in consideration he is not being able to eliminate deficits in the end of this.

I want to know if these high stakes players do use proper bankroll management, because they must certainly have a huge amount of cash to play these stakes I think.

where did we hear this before... really one thing that springs to mind- are they really pro's or are they just a bunh of dudes with huge bankrolls...i mean are we really talking of skill here...if so- why such big swings, i reckon the biggest thing here is luck, if they are all pro's then even if skill plays some role, they all have plenty of it...

love how this article says he won 1.2m a week before, but lost 800k now, christ thats still 500k up.
