Last year's high stakes King Daniel 'jungleman12' Cates, was thursday morning challenged to a heads-up duel by a totally unknown Swede. The meeting evolved mildly surprising.

It's not every day that Daniel 'jungleman12' Cates looses 47 buy-ins on a single headsup session.

However, it is not every day that he moves down as 'low' as $ 25 / $ 50, but both were exactly what occurred against Swedish 'Lindqvro' thursday morning at Full Tilt Poker.

The meeting started out relatively quiet on four tables, where Cates in one hour won approx. $ 23,000.

Two hours later the Swede was ready for a new battle. Here the result was relatively trivial - a win of $ 2,000 to 'Lindqvro. "

But then they changed two tables again, and then things started to happen. From 10:50 to 13:30 the two players went at it, in a way which leads the thoughts back to the epic battles between Viktor 'Isildur1' Blom and Tom 'durrrr' Dwan in the fall of 2009.

At the end of the battle, the swede sat with a staggering $ 337,000 ($ 73,000 + $ 101,000 + $ 65,000 + $ 97,000) compared to jungleman12's approx. $ 64,000 ($ 23,000 + $ 32.000 + $ 5,000 + $ 4,000) divided into four tables.

Altogether 'Lindqvro' won approx. $ 235,000 from Daniel 'jungleman12' Cates over 2,427 hands. This corresponds to 47 buy-ins á $ 5,000.

It is not known who 'Lindqvro' is, but his style of play is pretty similar to Viktor Blom's. But since he signed a contract with Pokerstars, he is required only to play there. So the mystery still has to be solved.

Is he loosing qualities? We cant forget he was one of the unknown players that quickly came to mediatic life because of one or two important victories, so his quality and credebility cant mbe measured in the same ranking as others who play at the same level. I have friends who play higher than i think they should and they continue because its the place they think they should occupy, but when they loose, its a mess. Its not because one have a lot of money that should play higher. Only should play higher when knows enough about the game to be in that higher level. Thats why many passes life spending, and good players pass life winning some easy, sometimes.

I think it was Iasildur teaching his young brother his aggro style. He was needing to pick a fish to dont loose, so i think he choose the right one to teach his brother.

If this year keeps like this, it will be a nightmare for cates.

Sounds like jungle better get his kicks in the durrrr challenge to recover from this . . . Cates will recoup, in time, but still, to lose that much, even for him, in ONE session, has gotta be a little bone-rattlin', eh????? L0L Aww crap! Tongue

Well that is just pocketmoney, atleast to the people above.

he hit him hard when he was bleeding already. very good result for another of the endless series of mystery swedish pros and a loss which surely wont hurt jungleman's bankroll but he has to end his downswing soon.

i think this could be Isidur IMO, i mean 'Lindqvro' was playing around the same time as isi was playing in stars, then again if it is sum1 else i hope he plays the high stakes soon, could be sick to watch
