Greg Raymer parts with PokerStars

A few days ago Greg Raymer, the 2004 WSOP Main Event winner, wrote on his twitter that he's no longer representing PokerStars and that he has no further comments. PokerStars hasn't announced anything yet either, but it's clear that Greg Raymer is no longer part of their team as he has been removed from the website.

So, what's the reason Greg Raymer is leaving PokerStars after so many years? Well, there are quite a few rumors, but most likely is that the conditions for the PokerStars pros aren't as good as before and that's the reason he left. We will probably get the answer very soon.

becouse they have to many pros at this time and also them star ilsidur eats to more money and over one who was run bad at this last 2 years must leave the pro team

If Isildur is so good and can turn 2K into 2.2 Million I give him a lot of credit. But to turn around and lose it all this boy doesn't have a mind. One time he was up 7 million at FT and lost most of that to. This kid could of banked 6 million and still had 1 million to play with. He has no common sense. If he could turn 2K like I said into 2.2 million then why couldn't he turn one million into something huge and still have a BR. Think Think Think.

Also how come no other pro has a showdown like Isildur. The way he plays when he is Brunson's age he'll be nothing but a memory. Tongue

The budget of Raymer's glasses was too expensive even for Pokerstars. Viktor Blom doesn't wear glasses, it's the only difference between them ... lol Cool

they have a lot of strange pros, one day flies, or good looking hot lucky ladies, in my opinion, raymer at least had an idea about poker... at least 20 % of their pro´s dont have...

Looks like the poker rooms target younger players. Oldtimers are replaced by young hot shots. For Stars it is a shift from tourney play to cash games too.

PS has lost a few "pros" over the last couple of years, and the players they've signed in the same period haven't really been widely well known. Probably time for PS to re-evaluate their contract requirements and be more diserning on whom they sign.

Hahaha , he always has those same stupid glasses the first time i seen him playing poker was years ago and i thought he looked stupid with those glasses on , i didnt even know his name before this post i just reconized him from the glasses

oh come on... whats your problem? Greg Raymer may not be the top elite of nowadays poker, but i guess he won more money than you ever will.... so he is worth talking about.

We are comparing here Poker Stars Pros... not micro player vs Pro right?

I heard that they pretty much offered close to nothing in a take it or leave it kinda deal to which I am sure he was like I don't need a red star by my name, whatever. I am disappointed Stars basically cut him though. He was a great ambassador for them and is a great ambassador for Poker in general. (PPA). Also a skilled player. The variance in live 5ks and up is sick, just because you don't make some noise doesn't mean you have lost it. Especially if he is not playing a ton (Idk if he is or not). Still kinda disappointing.

being a pro at a poker site is too much commitment for a player and if you dont get what you want for it, then dont think its worth giving up your personal life. and the word 'pro' been losing its appeal with so many young pros
