It only took 59 days for an American to reach the magical 1,000,000 VIP Player Points in 2011 with PokerStars. That means, he has shaved more than three weeks of the previous record from 2008.
Through various bonuses, tournament tickets, etc. it is reportedly worth over $ 100,000 to achieve the highest customer level, SuperNova Elite at PokerStars.
Last year 342 players passed the qualifying limit of 1,000,000 VIP Player Points, but none as fast as George 'Jorj95' Lind in 2008, where he completed it on the 18th march.
Nevertheless, that record got beat on Monday, when Andrew 'azntracker' Li crossed 1,000,000 VIP Player Points for 2011.
Li, who then has overtaken Lind's record with more than three weeks, is a Sit & Go expert and has had to play 14,183 of the site's most expensive Sit & Go's to achieve the goal. Only nine of the first 59 days he kept away from the online tables, and that was when he was at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in the Bahamas.
'As a big exam'
The new record holder says, that he originally only aimed to beat Lind's record by one day, but when Victor 'Isildur1' Blom suddenly harvested Points in grand style, the American was forced to turn the intensity up a notch.
Where he in January earned 398,682 VPP's he earned 602,086 in February. The largest win in one day was $ 12,732, and the greatest loss was $ 17,511.
- This is very reminiscent of the feeling I used to get shortly after finishing a huge exam or project back in college - I would characterize it as "subdued elation." I'm not going crazy in jubilation or anything like that, but I am tremendously happy that I was able to accomplish this.

And wtf is up with the clothes his wearing ? But i think i would stop laughing if he showed me his bankroll ...

Damn impressive !
@ Flexibleeric - LOL - the 'news' articles here are never well written - I think users mostly just submit them.. A lot of the BRM members do not have english as a first language.

Although the awful grammar of these articles constantly annoys me, I was gonna say what you said, but you beat me to it, jess. It's so painful reading most of the comments on this site, but like you said, BRM is a heavily-non EFL (English as a First Language) site, so I just try to bear with it!
As for "azntracker", I constantly see him in the PokerProLabs leaderboards, so this isn't that much of a surprise. It's crazy that he lost about $40K in S&G's just to set this record, and he's played 40,000 of them (according to PPL). Still, he's up almost $60K in just over 1100 scheduled tourneys, so that combined with his Izzy challenge money definitely compensates for his (likely caffeine-and-adderall-assisted, LOL) mega grind. Congrats to him!

That is really sick to achieve that level so quickly, I really had no idea it could be achieved that quickly, even at the higher $$ levels. Conrats to him and his optician, I'm sure they will both profit from this!

I have seat back and start thinking about what i really want in the future for my life. I usualy say i like o lot of poker game, in which i loose about 6 to 12 hours of my time per week, but then i read something like this, i get "knotty". This is more than a job, harder than a work, this guy dedicates in large scale doing that, with lots of money in his pockets, and the bank, and the internet, and he stop sleeping just to try and do something for his life. Now he did it, but i still dont know what i want for my life. I don't know if i could submit myself to a challenge like this.

I was only trying to point out that the number of tourneys that the article claims, I believe to be wrong. Alot of the comments on the post I see about "no life" and "24/7" which the article would leave a person to believe. While OPR doesnt register sit n go's less than 36 players, thePDB. Now Im no computer whiz but the rankings show every tourney I play, so no reason to believe that it would only record a portion of his. To MODs, please remove earlier post and accept my appologies if I viotated with the links Ive posted. I will say that I am not affiliated with any other site and am a new member here.

ah nothing special, preparing for dubai !and at you?well what is points to spend money and live after that, when you would have 45 years?what he would remember from his past?nothing!if you are young you must try new things, too see and to do things that you can only when you are young and so on...dont get me wrong,I love poker and everybody of us would like to earn millions from poker, but some things are much more important!I maybe spend too much time on playing and other internet stuffs, when I must say my girlfriend that I have to be till 20:00 at home to play tourney !so have to balance time to her, other stuffs and poker!but to play 24/7,thats too much!I have luck that I dont work ,so I cant play poker till 6:00 am and thats why I have lots of free time, but on day have to spend time on other things!

jovicakralj | 04/03/2011 16:53:39 GMT |
Yeah but my point is... every man that make loads of money dont have time for anything... That is how things work in life... Or you dont have money to spend and you are bored in life or you have money but you dont have time to spend it Poker or company it doesnt matter at all...
Me? Im playin poker as usual

omg there are swings of over 15k a day and this for a length of some months only to get this status... i mean he could play half of the tourney and play them better...so he could earn much more
|
Niklas91 | 30/03/2011 09:01:09 GMT |
But on the other hand.. If he had only played half of the tourneys to earn more money (by concentrating a bit more on each tourney", he wouldn't have achieved this milestone, as I guess was planned for quite some time (everything else would just be incredible).
All I can say to it is just congratulations on this milestone and may he grind some more in the future!
