EPT San Remo: Viktor "Isildur1" Blom is out of the Main Event

Day 1a of the EPT San Remo Main Event is over. 225 out of 438 players survived the first starting day and they will now rest 1 day before it's time for Day 2. In the lead is Leonid Bilokur, from Russian, with a 187,000 stack, closely followed by Aleksey Zharko, from Ukraine, with 178,400 chips.

Things didn't go so well for the Swedish Team PokerStars Pro Viktor "Isildur1" Blom as he was sent packing during the early stages of the day. However, this time, he was quite unlucky. Blom had Q 9 and the flop came J 8 10 (nut straight). The turn card gave Blom a flush draw as well and he decided to move all-in. His opponent called with J 8 (two pairs) and only had 4 outs. The poker gods must have turned against Blom as an 8 fell on the river and gave his opponent a full house.

Blom must have been frustrated with the way he went out. It didn't take long before he tweeted about the hand: "Just busted with nuts and redraw on turn all in, guy hits full house 4 outer on river."

Now you see it happens also to the very best in live games, so stop talking about rigged when you lose a hand against 4 outer with 100 hands sample Smile Like Cates I don't really like Blom, I also don't like his style. But he is one of the best in the world right now, especially when it comes to heads up Blink I'd like to see him playing HU against my favourite player, Chris Ferguson. I like Daniel, but for me Jesus vs. Isildur would be even bigger.

BAD BEAT...
Aww crap!

Bad beats do happen to the best poker players of the world and Isildur1 is no exception. Sometimes it is not your day.

I definately agree it was a bad beat for Isildur1. Many say that bad beats happens only in online poker and rigged live poker. I'm glad this happend to a such known player on a very official occassion to prove them wrong. Poker it also has a luck part which usually translates to bad beats just like in this case. On the other hand i remember Viktor Blom already said in one of his first interviews that he is not a good live player, he preffers online poker due to the much larger number of hands and multitabling you can do on online poker. I also think he should stick to the online poker, although it's a very rare presence nowadays on Pokerstars tables.
As for a heads up i would like to see him against Scott Palmer live, they already played heads up online on superstars showdown and Scott won the competition.
