High Stakes: Patrik Antonius won $2.3M last month

Many thought that the high stakes scene would die after Black Friday when all U.S. players were blocked from playing poker online. Now, when a bit more than 2 weeks have passed, we can conclude that it didn't! There were some really good games going at Full Tilt and PokerStars nosebleed tables during the second half of April, and it was the Nordic players who won and lost the most.

On the winners side we find the finnish Full Tilt Pro Patrik Antonius who ended up with a $2.3M profit, closely followed by fellow countryman Jens "Ingenious89" Kyllonen with a $1.73M profit. The two biggest losers in April were Andreas "skjervoy" Torbergsen (-$1.5M) and Gus Hansen (-$964k).

We didnt hear about Patrick for a while, at least hearing good news about him. Dont know if he is already green in this year's statistics, but he sure gave a great jump with this victory.

Well that is nice to hear that the high stakes are still being played online. Just no US players more in the online games.

I always like to see the evolution of Patrik Antonius and Gus Hansen. I observed that somehow same thing happens each year, to be more specific every year it seems Gus Hansen has an awesome start and wins a lot of money but starting april of may he starts to lose a lot more than he won. Same happend last year when he was minus 7.000.000 dollars or so. On the other hand Patrik Antonius always has a bad start, both online and live. But then he quickly it's on profit and always end as a big winner in the end. At the moment Gus Hansen is still on profit, over 3.000.000 dollars in fact. A not so good surprise was Andreas "Skjervoy" Torbergsen, he is such a good player but i think he was titlted. I coulnd not believe that in a day he busted 1.1M dollars...

woooow. 2.3 Million in only one month. He really is on a pretty good run. If he keeps the good work up this could be a legendary year for him I guess.
