Posted on 30 August 2011 by "T".

Another day of the EPT Barcelona main event is now in the books, and the player field has been narrowed even further. 141 players will return to the tables in a few hours time and continue the trip towards the €850,00 first place prize. The chip leader still comes from France, however, it's no longer Guillaume Darcourt but Xavier Caruggi with 577,700.

Darcourt, the Day 2 chip leader, has dropped to 7th place and will bring 380,100 chips today. The two biggest names that will join Darcourt and Caruggi in the top of the field today are Vanessa Selbst (USA) - 364,500 chips, Victor Ramadin (USA) - 252,900 chips.

We will return with an update as soon as Day 3 comes to an end.

€850K would be a great push up for my life if i was able to one day catch a prize like this. Most of the field should by now be made of players with lots of experience at real tables, who don't like to think about the prize before they have a good odd to win it! Its really not better thinking about it, so many things can happen with a 140 players field, and recent history dont help the actual top ten.

Never heard of the current chip leader but i must say it's good that new faces lately are doing great on live events.

I'm sure that they all have some live experience but in the world of high stakes poker they are really unknown.

And yes, the first prize is pretty serious, and if i made the math right it's over 1 mil dollars Big Smile

I hope that until next year I can play this tourney. But for this I have to play more than today and invest more money

only two big names left in the tournament and they are not much far behind in chips but the wannabes are giving them tough competition for the big first prize.
