Another day of the EPT Barcelona main event is now in the books, and the player field has been narrowed even further. 141 players will return to the tables in a few hours time and continue the trip towards the €850,00 first place prize. The chip leader still comes from France, however, it's no longer Guillaume Darcourt but Xavier Caruggi with 577,700.

Darcourt, the Day 2 chip leader, has dropped to 7th place and will bring 380,100 chips today. The two biggest names that will join Darcourt and Caruggi in the top of the field today are Vanessa Selbst (USA) - 364,500 chips, Victor Ramadin (USA) - 252,900 chips.

We will return with an update as soon as Day 3 comes to an end.

The final table of The Big Event Main Event is not far away now as there are only 22 players left. Unfortunately Daniel Negreanu didn't last all the way and he finished in 37th place ($9,000). However, there is still a big name left in the tournament. Joe Hachem, the 2005 WSOP Main Event Champ, was playing very good during Day 3 and he managed to accumulate a stack of 610,000 chips (8th place).

The American Victor Ramadin is still in the lead. He continued playing good throughout Day 3 and now he has 1,6 million chips. But there are another 3 players with over 1 million chips, so there is no time for him to sit back and relax yet. We will return with an update as soon as Day 4 of the Main Event has come to an end.

The Big Event - Main Event: Daniel Negreanu in 5th place with 70 players left

Posted on 08 March 2011 by "T".

Last Saturday, the tournament series The Big Event kicked off at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles. 417 players signed up for the Main Event and now, 3 days later, 70 players still have the chance to reach the final table and battle for some serious cash.

Chip leader is the american Victor Ramadin. Ramadin has played fantastic poker from the very beginning of the tournament and he has managed to accumulate 1,050,000 chips - double the stack than Jamie Kaplan in second place.

The biggest name left in the field of players is from Canada. Daniel Negreanu has 360,700 chips and is at the moment in 5th place. A win for Negreanu will take him back to number 1 on the All Time Money list, so we can expect to see him play his very best game.
