Jason Tompkins, an online grinder with about $400k in live tournament earnings, is the new chip leader of the EPT Sanremo main event. The Irishman was among the first players to break the million mark, then it didn't take long before he had 1.5 million before finishing the day with an impressive 2,423,000 stack. The two-day chip leader Inge Forsmo also survived Day 4. He will sit down with 2,025,000 chips today in second place. Many poker stars were unfortunately among the 42 players who hit the rail during Day 4. Just to mention a few of them:

26. Isaac Haxton €19,000
36. Justin Bonomo €16,000
48. Shaun Deeb €14,000
59. Mike Watson €12,000
62. David Vamplew €12,000

A total of 24 players will return to the tables in a few hours. All of them are now guaranteed to walk away with at least €23,000 each. The winner of the tournament will take home €800,000!

What did I told you? Forsmo had done good but he didn’t climb enough in the stack in order to avoid competition on the lead. Forsmo didn’t run bad on day 3, but not well enough to keep the first place. But, as I usually defend, that’s not that important at this point, better is to keep among the first and guaranteeing a bigger prize, knowing that everyone already gets the hand on the money, and at least it will be €23k. But this top guys should be thinking about passing the €200k prize mark.
