Danish poker players have been doing extremely well on the European Poker Tour lately, and yesterday the third straight win came when Jannick Wrang took home the EPT Campione main event (Italy). It was an extremely tough final table where Wrang had to defeat Olivier Busquet, the 2009 WPT Borgata winner, heads-up to reach the first prize of €640,000. This is by far Wrang's biggest pay day ever, with previous career highlights being a side event win on the tour and a 16th place in the EPT London main event.
"I was really rooting for Olivier to bust out when he was all-in (when four-handed) because he's a very tough player," said Wrang, shortly after his victory. "Everyone was tough actually, it was a sick final table. I can't compare it with any other wins not yet. It's a nice pay day."
Final table results:
1 Jannick Wrang €640 000
2 Olivier Busquet €430 000
3 Fabrice Soulier €240 000
4 Balazs Botond €157 000
5 Koen De Visscher €124 000
6 Mario Nagel €92 000
7 Stefano Puccilli €71 500
8 Robin Ylitalo €54 000
