Posted on 13 September 2012 by "T".

Day 2 of World Poker Tour Grand Prix de Paris has now come to an end. The day started with 143 players (we got the numbers wrong yesterday) and ended with 63 after some really exciting and wonderful four levels of poker.

Philipp "Philbort" Gruissem will bring the largest stack (280,600) to the tables today, and there are many well-known faces with healthy stacks in the remaining squad. Just to mention a few: Juha Helppi (222,800), Faraz Jaka (157,400), Jason Mercier (140,700), David Benyamine (137,600) and Theo Jorgensen (126,900).

The money bubble will burst when 27 players remain - all players will then be guaranteed at least $17,154 each. The winner of the tournament will take home bank-busting $515,720, and the runner-up gets $341,149!

80 players went out of WPT in Paris at the second day, more than half the field. Things tend to get more complicated while time passes, and it's funny to see how close the best known players in this tourney are, what does this mean? And, will they be there tomorrow to keep fighting for the half million first prize?

Some big names still kicking around with good stacks as well. Not seen Juha in the big money for awhile, used to watch him on late night poker on Ch4 in UK, was always one of the best players. Hope he does well.

Mercier is a bit of a beast too I'm sure he'll make a solid cash.

Nice win amount, prestige of a WPT is the bigger deal though.
