The much talked about BOOM documentary could be finished by November this year, co-producer Jay Rosenkrantz wrote in his blog on Monday. He doesn't know the exact date when the film will be released nor where it will be possible to see it, but he hopes to have the final version ready for the South by Southwest Film Festival in November.
BOOM: The Incredible True Story of Online Poker is about the evolution of online poker, from the Moneymaker Boom to the UIGEA to the Absolute Poker/Ultimate Bet scandal, and it explores the nuances of the online poker subculture, from poker forums to online poker training sites, along with the psychological implications of the online poker lifestyle. The film also includes several interviews with well-known poker pros that have been involved with the game for many years.
It says it has been much talked but it’s the first time I am reading about it. But, if well done, i believe it can provoke a change in the way many outsiders look at online poker lovers. There was already time for someone to do this, I’m one of those who talked about this here at this forum perhaps more than a year ago, but the lack of support always make other, well prepared and stacked, to go ahead first with good ideas like the one used to make this documentary. Just hope I can find a way to see it when it's released.
Sounds very interesting! can't wait to see it and hopefully it won't be difficult to come across in the video world. I think this could actually bring some new light to the U.S. government so that they figure out it's not what they think and will allow U.S. citizens to get involved.
