The final table of the Season XII World Poker Tour bestbet Jacksonville Fall Poker Scramble came to a close last night after almost four hours of play and 99 hands - of which approximately 40 hands were dedicated to heads-up play between Blake Purvis and Jared Jaffee, who began the final table with a decent chip lead.

The pair were separated by less than a big blind when the battle started, but Jaffee took the command right away and built a 2-1 chip lead over the next 40 hands. On hand #99 in Level 30 (50,000/100,000/15,000), Purvis raised to 250,000 and Jaffee called. The flop came down JDiamondJHeart6Heart and Jaffee checked-raised to 1.3 million after Purvis bet 400,000. Purvis announced that he was all for his last 3.4 million chips. Jaffee snap-called with 4Heart2Heart... Purvis turned over AHeartASpade.

Purvis was ahead with jacks and aces, but he needed to avoid the flush draw of Jaffe. The 6Club on the turn was an excellent card for Purvis, but the QHeart spiked on the river to give Jaffee his first WPT title and $252,749. It was a well-deserved win by Jaffee who played his third WPT final table (Season VIII Southern Poker Championship and Season IX Legends of Poker).

Final table results:

1st: Jared Jaffee -- $252,749
2nd: Blake Purvis -- $166,139
3rd: Michael Horchoff -- $106,904
4th: Margo Costa -- $79,114
5th: Corrie Wunstel -- $59,335
6th: Johnny Price -- $47,468

Yeah obviously the favorite won there, he had the chip lead in the final six and was the only well known pro among the final six players. After 3 appearances in the final table at the WPT it's finally great for him to win, congrats Jared.

For the win the Brooklyn-based poker pro earned $252,749 and 900 Card Player Player of the Year points. This was his second title of 2013, having won the Aria Poker Classic $1,080 championship in July.

Jared Jaffee was always favourite to win this, but what a way to lose.Pocket aces against 4 high and lost, sick or what. Well done to both of them though
