WPT Venice: Kara Scott and Mike Sexton Close In On The Final Table

The third day of the World Poker Tour Venice main event was kind of slow and not as action-packed as one might have hoped for. The day started with 36-players and, after some hours of play, 18 of them were still standing when the tournament director called it a day. Mike Sexton, Kara Scott, Ludovic Lacay and Matt Salsberg all made it through the day with healthy stacks while Daniel "Jungleman" Cates, Liv Boeree and Marvin Rettenmaier were sent packing.

All the remaining players are now guaranteed a minimum payday of $7,975 each. The plan for Day 4 is to play down to 6 players, who will battle it out on the televised final table this weekend. It's very likely that one or two big names will make it there and battle for the first prize of $180,097!

Ohhhh... Liv was sent home... wherever home is now... Poland right?
Well, would like to see Mike win it then. From what i saw he's still missing a WPT bracelet to go with his WSOP one.

Despite needing to cull just 18 players, yesterday's WPT Venice action was a slower affair than many expected.
Indeed, the prospect of a TV final table and $180,097 was enough for many players to dig into their reserves and not let go of their chips.
At the close of play just 18 players remained and leading the pack was Erion Islamay (470,000), ahead of other notables such as Kara Scott (414,000) and Mike Sexton (414,000).

i didn't realise Kara Scott actually played poker Smile
i prefer her doing the interviewing as she is a nice bit of stuff and is always easy on the eye.

I think it would be good for Sexton to win this event. Hell, he is always doing the announcing on the poker games I watch and I've only seen him make final table one time. I don't think he's actually taken down any real event so I'm pulling for him.

Ya,...I find that Mike Sexton guy entertaining to watch calling tourneys on the WPT TV shows!!!

He seems to be VERY enthusiastic about poker,...like a kid in a candy store to quote an old cliche...!

I've only ever seen him play once on TV,...and it seemed like a show that was taped YEARS ago when he was a LOT younger...

Kara Scott and Mike Sexton, what a double!!! Which one of them will be stronger in the end? I would bet on Kara Scott to win this time, but Sexton is on these tables for too long, he wont let this victory that easy.

I would put my money on Mike Sexton outlasting Kara Scott. He has so much more experience in these situations. You don't really hear about Kara doing so well these days. Not since she came second in the irish open in 2008 and had back to back cashes in the wsop ME in 2009 and 2010.

I really like Kara and also how she plays, to me it's a much better representation of the female poker player type than other female poker players that are promoted by other poker sites.

Too bad that this event wasn't really that action packed as other editions...

I prefer Kara Scott above Liz Boeree anytime. Liz is walking besides her schoes. I don't like her personality at all. She is probably a very good poker player though. At least I know she is way better than me lol
