On Friday, the last six players of a 1,189-player field battled it out on the 2013 World Poker Tour Borgata Poker Open final table. At the end of the night, after nearly eight levels of play, Anthony Zinno stood tall as the winner after defeating Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst heads-up.
Selbst had a slight lead when the cards were in the air, but Zinno played very well and created himself a 2-1 lead over the first 20 hands. Then it didn't take long before Selbst lost her final chips to Zinno...
Zinno raised opened for 1.2 million in the first hand in Level 28 (blinds 250k/500k 50 ante) and Selbst moved all in for her remaining 7.7 million. Zinno called with A6 and Selbst turned over K10.
The board ran out Q9754 Zinno was crowned the champion for $825k while Selbst, who had failed to become the first ever women to win an open buy-in WPT event, received $492k for finishing runner-up .
