A 23-year-old guy from Finland traveling the world playing tennis. Besides tennis, I love to grind MTTs and SnG's on FTP and PokerStars.

It has been hard for me to find the motivation to play poker in the past few weeks as my favoruite tables (and stakes) at Full Tilt aren't filling up quickly enough with other players. I have also tried Omaha and NL Hold'em cash games, but no luck there either. I need to work a lot on my game (cash game), but I just don't feel like I have enough time to spare. For now I guess I will stick to SnG and tournaments instead...

Yesterday was the first day since few weeks that I tried to play poker decided to play with my friend 50/50 on tournaments and I played maybe 6 tournaments in total, and only one was even close to be on the money... I lost that one on the bubble with a9 vs ak and the board didn't help me.. Lucky me my friend played pretty good, he made on storm I think 70d and on the MicroMillions 417d, we played that tournament like 8.5h and were so pumped when the real money was starting to come... He had little bit under average with maybe 16bb (average was around 20bb), he was in the Button when the cutoff raised 2bb and he pushed with a9 and the guy called with a3... Guess what was the river.. 3 Smile so we were out on the 282th place.. Sad that we didn't make more money when it was starting to get exciting but what can u do?

Maybe the lack of motivation towards poker is because tennis is going well? Last weekend me and my team won the finnish championship in team league Smile I was also selected to represent Finland on the next Davis cup against Bosnia on the week of 31th march! Lets hope to kick some ass next week!!! Blink I will travel again to Egypt right after the Davis Cup so basically I will be traveling around 3 weeks or maybe more, depends little bit how it will go Smile UNTIL NEXT TIIMEE BROOOOOS!

Cool beans. I'm amazed you tennis guys have time to grind MTT's, must be nice for recuperating when you're tired from playing.
Good luck against Bosnia - get the whipped.

So when you motivated to play cards your tennis suddenly starting to suffer? And now its vice versa?
I dont think the two interconnected that much, its just your state of mind. Also you are still sort of a recreational cardplayer (amiright?) but a full on time tennis pro, so I dont see anything wrong with whats happening now, when you checking your priorities to match your expectations.

Keep calm and carry on! Cool

I know that you are right that they are not connected to each other Smile but im sometimes just a believer in all kind of magic things Blink I think life is rigged Big Smile yeah im just a recreational player, dont have time to make 2 jobs Smile

Ohh yes they have a team, and a good one also, the best guy from bosnia is around 160atp and the second guy is 220atp, so hopefully jarkko nieminen is in normal shape Blink

It's good to be away from the tables during a few days, even if there's no aparent reason for that to happen, because it will help you restablish the mental strength to get back to the tables. Nice to know you have good friends, who share their profits with you (i know the investment was shared too, but he's a good person in the same)!

You go through stages like this when the poker gods do not seem to be smiling on you and this can lead to you not feeling motivated to play. Just leave it for a while and come back refreshed is my advice

Wow ! Nice to see a Tennis player grinding poker here
Gl on your matches at the Davis Cup

I am very happy to be a part of such a great community, wish you the best of luck at the tables, off the tables, behind the tables, under the tables and in your life in general.
Yours truly highyeah, somewhere near the Mediterranean Sea.

I have also been playing less poker lately, especially, because the traffic on SNG´s at FTP is getting worse and worse.
