Here's something to look forward to for those of you who love poker and tennis equally! Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst and Team PokerStars SportStars Rafa Nadal will play against each other in a heads-up poker game at Casino de Monte Carlo on Friday, April 11!
Nadal, the world's No. 1 tennis player, will be in Monaco for the ATP Monte Carlo Master, a tournament he has won 8 times in a row to date! Although he will be up against some of the world's best players in that tournament, the question is whether the heads-up match against Vanessa Selbst will be his toughest challenge in Monaco!
Selbst is without any doubt the world's best female poker player at the moment. She has won over $9.6 million playing live poker tournaments, including two World Series of Poker titles! Nadal on the other hand, is not only an extremly competitive player on the tennis court but also when it comes to playing Texas Hold'em.
He won a charity tournament last december where he had overcome, for example, Brazilian football legend Ronaldo and Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu. His most recent achievement was a win of a heads-up micro stakes challenge on PokerStars earlier this year. Nadal won 50 of 75 hands against his fellow countrymen (Spain) and took home €3,000 that was given to charity.
