Both opening flights of the European Poker Tour Deauville Main Event have finished. Day 2 kicks off today at 12:00 CET and around 360 players (of 591 entries) will be returning to the poker tables - plus any latecomers as the registration is open until the cards are back in the air.
Leading the way is French poker veteran Guillaume Darcourt with 167,800 in chips (210 big blinds when the tournament resumes in Level 9 with 400/800 blinds). Team PokerStars Pro's Jan Heitmann (126,100) and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier (123,500) also managed to accumulate big stacks on Day 1.
Six 75-minute levels will be played today, with a 20-minute break every two levels. Tomorrow, on Day 3, the levels will be increased to 90 minutes and, most probably, the money bubble will burst. We will be back with another brief update tomorrow morning! Stay tuned!
