Got $25k High Roller Ticket For Only $125!

Tags: Aria, Jake Schindler, Jason Mercier, Tom Marchese.
Posted on 01 June 2015 by "T".

Rio All-Suite and Casino was packed with players last Friday when low buy-in event The Colossus kicked off. Some of poker's biggest stars therefore headed over to Aria for a $25,000 High Roller instead.

Approximately seven hours into the tournament one of the participants was escorted out by security and banned for life from all MGM venues. Reason? He had bought a ticket for a $125 tournament and by mistake been given entry to the $25k high roller. As you probably already figured out, he decided to keep quiet and give it a shot.

The player did well and went on to knock out three players: Tom Marchese, Jason Mercier and Jake Schindler. He had accumulated a healthy stack before casino staff figured out what was going on. But regardless of how upset the affected players might have been, the tournament continued and UK's Max Silver eventually defeated online high-stakes regular Dong "Donger Kim" Kim heads-up to lay hands on the $432,960 first-place prize.

lool, rumours on the street go that he didn't intent to play the $125 either, he was just doing his work, cleaning the toilets where he accidentally found the ticket for the $125 tourney, he wanted to return it, but management thought he was joking and forced him to play... in the mix-up while doing the forcing stuff they registered him to 25K buy-in event and there he was sitting at the table with his half sh1tty mop laying around, kicking pro's left and right, before some dudes complained that toilets are flooded with sh1t ... only then people understood what's happening

I cant really blame the guy for giving it a go because i think most people would have been very tempted to try and get away with it. Congrats to Max Silver on winning this event

At least he managed to knock out a few well known and very good players before he was thrown out of the casino. Smile I think banning him for life from all of the casinos is going to far as it was their fault as well.

How the hell this was his fault in the first place? How the hell the casino figured it out who exactly bought the wrong ticket? How the hell he didn't sue them on the next day? How the hell the players whom he knocked out 'illegally' didn't sue this place too? This is ridiculous.

This is a kind of news that, in the last months we are seing to much, not all about this thing, but related things.
Is a nice thing that the casino did, but do that just when all the conclusion of the process of know if the player is right or not, after that aply him a decent punish, not ban him for life, but for a few years or maybe months, is probably a better idea, but just a opinion.
Beside that congratulations for the winner in this tournament.

This is why if I was you lui, I would not say that the casino did a nice thing - they banned him for life in all MGM venues which very likely would trickle-down into getting on a blacklist in many other venues too. One thing is to make him exit the tourney and another is to punish him for something that was caused by an employee of theirs.
