After topping a field of 489 runners, Darren Elias won the WPT Fallsview Poker Classic CA$5,000 Main Event last Friday to collect yet another WPT title as well as CA$449,484 in prize money.
Elias, a U.S. poker pro with close to $4.5 million in live earnings thanks to his lastest victory, is the fifth person in World Poker Tour history to have won three titles. The other 4 players to have won 3 or more WPT titles are Carlos Mortensen, Gus Hansen, Chino Rheem, Anthony Zinno.
"It was a good tournament," Elias told WPT. "I got dealt a lot of good hands in this one, a lot of big preflop hands. I kept getting aces and kings, I got pretty lucky to win. It was smooth sailing most of the way."
