A 22-year-old high stakes cash game player from the UK defeated a field of 47 to win the biggest payday of his (young) career to date - a whopping €800,000!

The 2018 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Germany €50,000 No-Limit Hold'em Super High Roller in Rozvadov, Czech Republic featured a guarantee of €1 million, which was totally supersized when it attracted a total of 47 participants and ultimately skyrocketing the final prize pool to €2,232,500 ($2,763,522 USD)!

Some of the 47 players in the field were very familiar names in the poker world: Schillhabel, Vogelsang, Steffen Sontheimer, Patrik Antonius as well as partypoker ambassadors Patrick Leonard and Sam Trickett. However, only Patrik Antonius made it into the final table, but still did not manage to win anything from this event.

The emerging victor who got the lion's share of that event was none other than Chi Zhang, who got the title and the top prize of €800,000 ($979,876 USD).

On the final day of the event, Zhang was in the middle of the pack with only eight players remaining. Italian Mustapha Kanit started the day as the chip leader, and he added more to his stack after busting Felipe Ramos in 5th place. Timothy Adams went on an early spree, eliminating in the process a player named ‘Big Tony', stopping Dietrich Fast at 6th place, and putting Patrik Antonius on the money bubble.

Zhang was the shortest stack with 4 players remaining. He was able to up his stack prior to knocking off Tobias Ziegler (4th place) and Adams got 3rd place when his river bluff got crushed by Zhang's two-pair.

Zhang then took roughly a 2-to-1 lead into heads-up play against final opponent Kanit. In the end, it was a coin flip with Kanit holding ace and nine of spades against Zhang four-pair (hearts and diamonds). The board produced Queen (diamonds), 7 (diamonds), 5 (spades), 10 (diamonds), and Queen (spades), thus making Zhang the top winner.

a lot of money won by this Asian player in a big stake game. Interesting option of patrick antonius when he chose to play all in with 66 it was a strange one but I think he had a little stack. I do not know if I risked like that. Congratulations to those who managed to finish in the money.

When you are in a tough position any pair is a good one to go in.
Waiting for better cards with the blinds eating you, is not the best approach.
The same you do with any A Smile
There is he extra thinking of course due to the money involved, but what you can do...

in 22 years to get the main prize is of course very cool .... I think the career of this player is just beginning and he will play for a long time at a good level of the game .... probably this win encourages him to new victories and tournaments .... 800000 this is certainly a very good prize

I really wonder what a twentysomething years old chinese gentleman doing in the UK if not going to one of their prestige universities. Seems to me he has a nice lifetime earnings already via online so cashing this much in live play must be a thrill.
