Event 40 $2,500 Mixed Big Bet of the 2018 WSOP has been bagged by Scott Bohlman, who now has cashed for the 51st time at the series, also savors his very first gold bracelet and a nice sum of $122,138 after outlasting a field of 205 players.
The unique format of Mixed Big Bet is a combination of 7 big bet games: no-limit hold'em, no-limit 2-7 single draw lowball, pot-limit Omaha, pot-limit Omaha 8-or-better, big O, no-limit 5-card draw high, and pot-limit triple draw 2-7 lowball.
Bohlman said after he won the event, "I didn't get to play it last year, and I didn't realize how fun it was. It's reasonably deep, and it's much more fun to play a deeper stack than a smaller one."
Thanks to this win, the 41-year-old investor from the Chicago suburbs currently has over $1.2 million lifetime live tourney winnings, with most of his cashes coming from the WSOP series events.
Bohlman entered the final day of the event as the strong chip leader with 5 players left. He went all the way and knocked his opponents off one by one, until only Ryan Hughes was left for the final heads-up match, with Bohlman having a 4-to-1 lead at that point.
It wasn't long before Bohlman was able to finally claim the top spot in the event.
