partypoker Bans 16 More Bot Accounts in September 2019; $9,338 and €3,368 Seized

In a continuous effort to enforce fairness and security for all players on the site, partypoker revealed that it has successfully closed 16 more ‘bot' accounts in September 2019 and seized $9,338 and €3,368 to be redistributed to players.

There were 13 dotcom (.com) accounts closed during September 2019 and in the process the partypoker Poker Fraud Team seized $9,338 in player balances, in which will be redistributed to affected dotcom players.

Still on the same month, the fraud team discovered and closed 3 rogue doteu (.eu) accounts coming from their European-based sites, and in the process they seized €3,368 in associated funds.

Some of the closures were thanks to players who reported these suspicious bots.

partypoker strives to continue in maintaining the safety of its players, and so a specialist poker fraud team was created, composed of a group of former poker pros whose main role is to investigate suspicious activity and help partypoker in kicking out these dodgy accounts. The site promises to update their valued players regarding the account closures they make every month.

Team partypoker pro Patrick Leonard said, "Two years ago it wouldn't have been possible, but after seeing the security department first hand, the team working there and the tools they are using, I'm very confident now that they can tackle people trying to play against the rules. In my opinion it isn't worth somebody trying to bend the rules because, in the words of Liam Neeson: ‘They will find you, they will catch you and they will.. ban you!'"

Suspicious activity has many faces. It can be a collusion between two or more players, or it could be somebody using bots or other illegal software designed to give players an unfair advantage.

partypoker players noticing the suspicious gameplay of such accounts are encouraged to report it to partypoker's fraudster team at [email protected]. partypoker promises to investigate all incidents reported.

well I think it is not the only place that has bots, but if the truth is good to see those accounts close ... I happen to another game and the truth bothers me sometimes loa admin do not give you a pen regarding this fear when you complain and that really bothers you a lot but I'm glad to see that it didn't happen here Blink Blink Blink

By saying 'two years ago this would not have been possible' is like saying we did not try to do this at all - despite all the complaints from our players - until this year, but look how far we came...
They could have done it earlier tbh, but the rake was the same for them, whether it came from bots or real life players...

to me it is of course good to reads that it is happen and bot accounts close. but of course not all and many new also can open, so it is situation like always- you have to be very careful, maybe play small amounts of money, and best to play mtt tournaments

yeah, you can always say, waht a hell they wait till this year and they could do much earlier this, but as you say, they had benefits from it and this is something that all sites should do!what they didnt do this before, probably we wouldnt find out,but at least something is happening now!
 Nightkid15/10/2019 15:30:10 GMT
Well today there are many things that make everything easy, especially programs that do everything for one and sometimes you even have benefits when using it while not being caught but well nothing good can come out of using this type of things and hopefully everyone who use them grab it Angry Angry Angry

I am not so much in poker now,I am more on casino games,so cant tell how much this bots affect on poker play and did I played against them or not!but still, its not good to lose money from this kind of "players" and you have nothing from that they will back money to you after months!

I don't disagree that this could have been tackled earlier, but am happy that they are addressing and being transparent about it.

Bots wiill adapt and they'll have to continually battle the future versions.

I also find it disturbing that you don't hear much from the other big two companies, pokerstars and 888, regarding this issue.

pokerstars has the CAPTCHA which I'm sure all of us have seen at least once, but they are not publishing the results of the bot hunts and should be transparent about this to all customers. Otherwise, the only players who are notified are those who get refunds and an email.

You don't hear anything from 888 regarding bots. I've never heard anything about bots being identified and players being compensated. So, is there no effort at detection or just no transparency?

They are keeping the good work.
I also agree that they are doing the right thing, informing everyone, about what
is happening in their site.
I doubt that this is the only site that bots are running. But as mentioned above,
no other site gives information in this section...

This news has become usual on the BRM and she announces like these bots are hunted by the people who work for Party Poker. I think it's much better to play here and you are much safer than before. It will be a pleasure if these bots will be completely eliminated.

I mean most of us are probably not winning players on party with or without the bots' presence, so I am not sure it will make the difference everybody expects...

Oops. Wrong thread.
 dule-vu17/10/2019 11:37:54 GMT
in this case, when they try to catch bots and to back money to players,I just wonder for long period they go for payouts!do they check every hand from registration of that "player" or just last few months!its interesting do they check every hand from start of playing at their site!
 CALICUL18/10/2019 11:43:41 GMT
In this case the difference can be observed if you're a regular there. In one year they eliminated hundreds of bots. I think they jumped over 1000. This means something and it is not to be neglected. You will be able to see this, if you can make money easier.

It`s ridiculous that these days naturalness is being used for promotion purposes. Protecting customers from being scammed should not be worth mentioning. The questions every player should ask in my opinion is "do I trust a company that used to know and ignore common practices of cheaters by having the ability to avoid those scams?" Instead of taking responsibility by compensating the victims they used to take additional profit out of it - for years. And "Is it possible, that measures have only been taking because of more and more depositing victims runaways? If so, are they going to take measures earlier next time, or again take the profits?"

The situation is very complicated here because it takes time to watch and catch these bots. I don't know exactly, if there is a program, who can detect them quickly, but it is necessary to be invented. In the future these bots, they must be permanently eliminated and the players to be satisfied.

There are many algorythms available to canvass the playerpool based on certain criterias (which you could get from studying the handhistories of the bots you already terminated) but many companies won't bother with them, because at the end of the day all they care about is rake, and bots pay rakes just like real players.
 CALICUL29/10/2019 10:14:05 GMT
This is an abominable thing and it's not normal, because people don't play poker for fun. Players are trying to make a profit, to advance to higher levels and to participate in tournaments with a larger buy-in. These bots are very disturbing and ruin many dreams.

Equality and security are essential for all players to feel confident. And it is something that we must celebrate in the rooms that put a continuous effort in this achievement.

Partypoker is a great example of the effort to continue maintaining the security of its players, and for that it created a team specialized in poker fraud, something that the rooms should commit to gradually match.

This news makes me happy as a player.
