2019 WSOP Kicks Off with $500 Casino Employees Event

The golden moment that every poker player and fan has been waiting for, has finally started.

The 50th Annual WSOP is back once more to the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino with a record 89 gold bracelet events which include Daily Deepstacks, Monster Stacks as well as exciting online tournaments.

As per tradition, the WSOP kicked off its 2019 tournament schedule with the $500 Casino Employees Event on May 29 (Wednesday), to give thanks to the people who serve the casino industry: casino dealers, pit bosses, cage employees, bartenders, and practically anyone who has a job related to the casino or poker rooms. These people have a shot at winning a WSOP gold bracelet with just a $500 buy-in.

2019 WSOP Event #1: $500 Casino Employees Event
Start Date: May 29, 2019 (Wednesday) at 11am
Duration: 3-day event

Last year, it was an Aria poker dealer and floorman named Jordan Hufty who took down this event, the 2018 WSOP Event #1: 565 Casino Employees NLHE. The prize pool generated was $283,000. He outlasted a player field of 566 entrants to win his first-ever WSOP gold bracelet and he also got to take home the biggest score of his poker career worth $61,909.

The first event of the WSOP holds an interesting backstory which started in the year 2000, when it called the Dealers World Poker Championship and only casino dealers were qualified to play back then. While the inaugural event was able to attract only 109 players, it was then expanded the next year. The event was only open to those who work for a licensed gaming facility such as casinos, racetracks, cardrooms and the like. The first four years of this event was in the Limit hold'em format, but after that it was changed to No-Limit hold'em.

This year, however, the Casino Employees event got a massive overhaul.
Last year the players received 5,000 in chips for 2 days of play with 30-minute blind levels starting at 25/25 blinds.
This time, the structure is deeper with players getting 25,000 in chips to play for 3 days with 40-minute blind levels starting at 100/100.

And there it goes again. WSOP starts again and it is going to be a blast this
year too according to the numbers.
And some lucky casino employee, will have a great start, by winning the first
tournament in the series.
The prize for the winner was a very good one last year, for that 500 USD buy in.

this is very nice gesture for all people who work in poker and arround it!500 $ isnt cheap buy in,but still you know that only stuff play and you can win big money,as we see prize pool from last year!hope that some normal and not famous man or women will win first place!

Well that did not know hahaha but it is good because it is mostly or I think that all casino employees can not participate or play in that casino so I like that ... hopefully my country would also have this type of things but there are not so good hopefully have fun and incidentally take some extra money hahaha Cool Cool Cool

It will be a beautiful series. I'm curious what Justin Bonomo will do in these games because he is number one in winnings. He has a beautiful ascension and will become a legendary player. I will watch the results of the tournaments on BRM and internet.

of course a wonderful tournament .... many casino workers would like to play in a tournament .... But they are prohibited by the rules of the casino .... and there is such a gift .... a special tournament only for casino workers .... $ 500 Of course, not a very big contribution. To take part in this tournament .... I think it will be an interesting tournament .... maybe there will be new professional poker players

its nice to see that somebody appreciate all work that stuff arround poker do for players and their bosses and this is nice way to give them chance to win big amount, because they cant play live games when they work for this industry!this winning will change future for somebody!

For now this moment is not celebrated as it should be. I have not seen too many registered players and the internet is not much detail about the first games, even if we are on June 2 and the WSOP 50 started on May 28th. I think they did not organize these tournaments well. We will see.

the feeling of the casino workers who every day sees some poker players playing absolutely wrong .... and their thoughts that they would play completely different ...... this is of course ..... and now it is granted to them a chance to prove yourself in this tournament .... I would like to know the results of the final tournament .... and interesting distributions in it

If you imagine how the employees of the casino should be, hahaha I do not know because in the movies I see that most of the employees have their rest time or exercises like the Chinese or Japanese, but here they barely give you permission to go to the bathroom, hahaha Disagree Disagree Disagree

Really? I thought they just cannot play in the establishment where they are working.

I knew the dealers at the table were changing, when it happens that they go to the toilet. It is not possible to restrict these employees because they will have health problems. More than that they can sue the employer. I do not think there is such a thing.
