partypoker launched its latest major software update for the global dotcom (.com) client on Monday (June 17, 2019) as part of the update in which all players are required to choose a new alias (player name).

On June 17, starting from 09:00 BST (10:00 CET), players will be shown a pop-up window the next time they log-in to the client, asking them to create a new alias. Player names will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and are subject to the site's rules regarding appropriate language.

To celebrate the update, partypoker is marking the day by hosting a limited-time 24-hour $500K ‘Race to Alias' giveaway for all dotcom players, except for those in Sweden and Czech Republic).

The giveaway is only available for real-money accounts and there are three ways:

  • Login Click Cards - will award random prizes worth up to $10,000 in cash to players after they create their new alias.
  • Hourly Click Cards - between $10,000 and $40,000 is up for grabs for those who earn at least 0.10 in loyalty points per hour.
  • $10K Freerolls - scheduled to run exclusively for those who earn qualifying tickets via either the ‘Login' or ‘Hourly' Click Card offers.

Overall, the promotion is set to pay out more than $500,000 in FREE prizes to those who change their player name within the allotted 24-hour promotional timeframe. Czech Republic players can claim a shared $25,000 in prizes through their own version of the Race to Alias giveaway.

Team partypoker pro Patrick Leonard said, "I am excited at all the changes partypoker has scheduled as part of the company's next software update, and I encourage everyone to log in and update their player name on June 17 to take advantage of the huge $500,000 giveaway!"

Partypoker Managing Director Tom Waters said, "This client update is one of a number of initiatives that we are working on in order to provide players with a safe environment where they can play online poker. With this release, we will be making changes to our software that will prevent third-party tracking tools from working. We want our players to have a fresh start and therefore we are asking all players to select a new alias so that all third-party tool tracking is lost for all our players. At the same time, we have some great promotions running and I'm sure there will be a mad rush by players eager to secure their preferred screen name!"

You can still participate in the next upcoming round of the Alias Race in the next 60 minutes!

Login to party poker it will automatically make you to change your Alias and then you will recieve "Login Click Card" where you can win prizes , after that you have hourly click cards.
Don't forget to go in "promotions" and opt in for it.

This looks like a more promising promotion than what Jokerstars have right now in June with that 'pirate craze'...

It's weird when the poker rooms forcing you to change that name. Why do they do this? That the players will not know who they are? To Stop being old aggressive rivalries or maybe at the request of the players who are tired by old nicknames?

I didnt changed anything, just add my normal username and its same like here!I forgot that it was different, without this dash, but ok,now will have this on party poker!for me its better to have username from registration and not allias which you need to choose or to change from time to time!

Another site taking measures against the tracking softwares that exist now.
Better for the players of course. But at some point they will pick up again,
at least in party poker, since it appears the alias change will be a one time thing only.
Unless they are planning to do this in a regular basis...

It is true that you have the option to keep it this nick name and normally some people choose it. I think the majority will choose for change because they want to be anonymous. I changed my nick name in three rooms so far. In Party Poker not.

for players who play many years at party poker, this is not such a good option, because you know lot of players and how they play, but know if they change their allias, they will different persons and you wouldnt know with whome you play!so dont is this good for players!

Their disadvantage is that: they can also be recognized by experienced players and this is not ok. The percentage of those who change their nicknames is bigger in my opinion. It's important that: he is hiding and steal money from players who are not so experienced. When the players know who you are, they are afraid to play with you.

Jokerstars promotions are always terrible i swear to god i never saw someone having worse promotions then them , the only thing i like is PokerNews freerolls which are 2,000$ each time and there is like only 300-400players.
Partypoker promotions are way better they even have promotion now if you deposit 20$ you get 30$ in Spin'Go tickets and you don't have to do any wagering with them straight cash.

Sometimes is very easy to win prizes in promotions or bonuses but there are some tournaments which are difficult to win something. I saw that in all the poker rooms where i played. However, the main purpose is to play with real money. Freerolls are for fun or to learn more strategy.

So the new register your alias software didn't work as smoothly as partypoker would like with people struggling for much of the first day to register their new aliases, with the promo being extended to cover some of the lost time but not all. But hey! It looks a good thing on the hole that tracking software can't now be used and starts to level out the playing field for recreational players. Only time will tell.

The whole thing must be something new in party poker.
All these players using tracking software to play there, may have stopped playing completely.
If they are basing their game, getting data from a third party, then there wont be any
reason continue playing there.
Probably they will search for a site that these programs can still be used.
But the circle gets smaller and smaller on them...

Poker industry has a really bad Anti-Cheat if you ask me because there is alot of bots on every site i assume.
They have to work on it and invest alot of money especially PokerStars because they are company with most money there shouldn't be any 3rd softwares allowed play like everyone else plays , or get banned simple as that.

I think this is a great innovation from PartyPoker .... if no additional poker software is used when playing in this poker room, as it seems to me, the odds will be a little equal .... because someone uses such programs And some don't. ... but of course, first and foremost is the player's power .... and only then additional tools
 CALICUL01/07/2019 10:26:40 GMT
Innovations are good only if the players are happy with them. I saw good things but also many bad things with the softwares of of different poker rooms. For me it is a disadvantage when something is broken and to the old software was much better.
 Nightkid01/07/2019 14:01:01 GMT
Well apparently it seems that everyone is crazy with the offers that are putting lately as everywhere doing competition hahaha but well so I would like it to be more often since there are times that no site offers offers or promotions for quite always sometimes Cool Cool Cool

They did not banned every tracking app I think only the ones which built databases from outside of your gamelogs. At least Jokerstars did something like that.

No matter what, it is a step to the right direction. Will make the game more transparent i think.
And if the changes like this are constant, then the tracking of any kind will be impossible.
I have read somewhere that there are also sites, that you can not choose the table.
You are just signing up, and the seat you are taking is random.
This is another measure for the players that are "following" specific ones, cause they have
marked them as easy targets Smile

I have no problem with tracking, it does not give you that much of an advantage on MTTs (where I play the most) because you won't spend enough time on just one table so the sample sizes remain small which makes most results less reliable.
 Mober17/07/2019 13:22:27 GMT
For a regular tournament is not that of a problem, if there are many players in.
BUt even there can someone have an intel on you, from the moment you go to their table.
It is different if you sit down and no one has a clue how you play.
And of course it is worst in sng's and cash games.
