partypoker introduces New, Exciting Bounty Satellites

The major benefit of participating in a satellite tournament is that it gives you the chance to play in higher stakes events with a minimal buy-in. For novice and recreational players whose bankrolls do not allow them to play even the cheapest tournament events, satellites offer a unique chance to win a seat at a very affordable cost.

Traditionally, satellites in poker have only awarded tickets, seats, or packages to higher buy-in events, and sometimes there will also be some cash prizes given to one or two players depending on the accumulated prize pool.

partypoker has created a fun and exciting satellite format called Bounty Satellites in which players could see themselves freerolling towards a ticket. In these bounty satellites, each buy-in is divided in half - 50% goes towards the tickets awarded while the other 50% is placed on the heads of everyone who enters (the bounty element), thereby creating a different dynamic throughout the tournament!

The mechanics is simple and straightforward - all you have to do is to eliminate an opponent and you will get half of their bounty amount whilst increasing the bounty on your own head by the same amount, much like in partypoker's PKO Power Series tourneys. The main difference here is that once the bubble bursts and the tickets are awarded, everybody who survived will still get to keep their own bounty.

Benefits of Bounty Satellites
For those unfamiliar with bounty satellites and wondering what are the benefits of joining one, read on below.

This format can reduce variance in satellites dramatically by giving you the chance to win a portion, all, or more than your original buy-in, which gives you more bullets to fire at future satellites.

This new format also improves play on and around the bubble since your equity is not completely tied up in the tickets, which should result to the tournament flowing much better and some interesting bubble dynamics must be thrown into the mix.

If you perform especially well in the early stages of these new bounty satellites, you could possibly end up winning enough bounties to pay for the buy-in to the tournament you were trying to qualify for plus get your hands on a ticket as well!

Where and when to play Bounty Satellites at partypoker
Head over to the satellites filter in the partypoker tournament lobby where you will instantly see the Bounty Satellites waiting for you.

Players will see these Bounty Satellites in a variety of buy-ins at 14:00 CEST, 18:00 CEST, and 18:30 CEST.

I think bounty satellites is not a good idea because the places for next qualifying there are fewer. Maybe it's an idea that will make the players to use the rewards for other games and this is very ugly. We will see how good are these games and if they will gather players.

I saw this yesterday and am still trying to decide whether i think it is a good idea. Maybe having bounties as part of the satellite structure gives more people more choice of how to play and the chance to recoup some of your buy in to re buy or play again by winning bounties. Hmm. Time to think this one through yet. Would love to hear what you all think of it.

Well as I can see again, they keep getting more new things every day to see if they can attract more people to their xdd games but this is good because the truth is if they hopefully they would do it in other types of games as well since I think we are all attracted when there are promotions or new things to try Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile

At the end of the day they will do anything to benefit the company more so overall I have zero doubts this promotion will.make a lot more money for them than for us.

I think you're right, many of us think that the offers benefit us but at the end of the day it's they who win as many more people bring their games with the offers that they make xd but I think we're all attracted to a good offer already be it for theirs or not hahaha Confused Confused Confused

An interesting concept here. It will draw players for sure.
You may not end up winning a ticket through the satellite, but you can still make money
out of it.
And when the bubble is out, you get to keep all the bounties you have won.
So you can get a ticket for free, plus winning money on top of it.

Certainly interesting and it will attract a few players, but I think in the end this cost players more. It would most likely require a lot of bounties to get anywhere near the same amount as a ticket value. Sure, reduces variance for players but that also means more money is spent paying the rakes, which means more revenue for the site.

I wouldn't touch this format with a 10 inch stick, but I can understand how it appeals to others.z

They are not trying to draw players with new games and offers, but also to find a way
to get more into their pockets as a site Smile
And most of the times, sites like party poker are good on succeeding this.
If you are an old player you can see better what is good for you and what not,
according to the games that exist, formats, payments etc.
