In collaboration with Baha Mar Resorts, partypoker LIVE shall host a charity poker tournament to help those affected by Hurricane Dorian.

Hurricane Dorian Charity Tournament

  • When: October 13, 2019 Sunday at 9pm CET
  • Buy-in: $100, zero rake

Hurricane Dorian ravaged through the Grand Bahama and The Abacos islands northwest of Baha Mar's home in Nassau, and so partypoker LIVE and The Baha Mar Casino are joining hands to help those affected by the storm.

It is a $100 buy-in event with zero rake, scheduled on October 13, Sunday, 9pm CET. All of the proceeds shall go to charity.

As an added treat, there will be a total of eight Caribbean Poker Party holiday package prizes up for grabs! The 2019 Caribbean Poker Party is scheduled on November 15 to 24, 2019 at the Baha Mar Hotel Nassau.
For the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners, they will win the full package worth $16,000, which includes:

  • Main Event buy-in worth $10,300
  • 9 nights at the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar for two
  • $1,400 room credit
  • $2,000 expenses

For the 4th to and 8th place winners, they get a $6,000 lite package, which includes:

  • Mini Main Event buy-in worth $1,100
  • 9 nights at the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar for two
  • $600 room credit
  • $2,000 expenses

All of the buy-ins accumulated from this tournament will directly go to a Hurricane Dorian Charity.

Since this is a fundraising event purely to support the Hurricane relief effort, there would be no satellites for this one.

A nice incentive for a good cause. It is always nice to see such moves,
from companies like these.
And they are no strangers to the place, since they are organizing tournaments there.
for quite some time.
And the rewards with the packages are great for that buy in Smile

I expected to see partypoker create some charitable initiative to help out the Bahamas and am glad to not be disappointed.

Well done partypoker!

This is not the first time that certain poker players or casino owners organizes a fundraiser to help sick people or victims of natural disasters. It is a natural and human gesture. It is sad that some rich people on the planet have a lot of money but do not donate for that.

This company has over a 100 million euros worth net income (means it's after taxes) every year, yet they want you to pay $100 to 'help out' - how's this different from what you described above?

$ 100 is not a lot of money for players who play poker at a higher level. I don't know if Party Poker will contribute with money to help but they are the ones who organized this fundraising and that means they help. It is more beautiful if they donate a sum but we don't know that.

of course this is a good action for those affected by the hurricane ... it’s nice that some poker rooms do charity work When some kind of cataclysm happens .... This suggests that profit is not the most important thing for various corporations ... Sometimes you need to do a good deed for victims of various troubles
