First, there are only two starting flights for this $2 million guaranteed event. As each flight is limited to a single re-entry, this means you don't have to face opponents who have huge bankrolls and can afford to fire multiple bullets.
Again, late registration ends after only nine levels, so the pro value hunters have absolutely no chance to buy in at the last second.
Also, both Day 1A and Day 1B end after 18 levels. These levels are 20-minutes long and that means each starting flight ends after six hours, allowing you to get to bed at a reasonable time, which is something of a rarity in the world of online poker these days.
Another fantastic thing about the WPT Montreal Main Event is its structure - everyone starts with 1,000,000 chips and the blinds start at only 2,500/5,000/625a. Those blinds will only be at 60,000/120,000/15,000a by the time the 18th and final Day 1 level begins!
Champion gets name Immortalized in WPT History
Not only will the champion of the WPT Montreal Main Event get to secure a massive payout, but also they will receive a $15,000 seat to the next Tournament of Champions, presented by Baccarat Crystal.
Their name will also be engraved on the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup trophy, and receive a replica version of it for their mantelpiece.
WPT Montreal Satellites
WPT Montreal satellites kick off this Sunday November 8, and start with an incredibly affordable buy-in of just $0.01! The first of these satellites start at 12:00 CET on November 8 and guarantees at least 10 seats to the $3.30 phase satellite.
The satellites turn into Phase tournaments after the centroll level. You can buy in to any stage and enter as many of them as you wish, but you can only take your largest stack through with you if you progress more than once.
All Phases feed into the weekly final where the first cards are pitched at 21:00 CET each Sunday. There is no direct buy-in into these finals which means $33 is the most any partypoker player will pay to win their $3,200 WPT Montreal Main Event seat.
You can also use Tournament Dollars to buy in to any of the WPT Montreal Main Event satellites or the Main Event itself. Tournament Dollar satellites run throughout the day with buy-ins from $1.10.
