On Sunday, the World Poker Tour Caribbean $3,500 Main Event wrapped up at Casino Royale in St. Marteen with WPT's very own Tony Dunst as champion! The WPT Raw Deal host overcame a very tough final table that included two former WPT champions, Marvin Rettenmaier and Giacoma Fundaro, to earn his first major tournament title and a sweet $145,000 first place prize + $15,400 seat into the WPT World Championship (Borgata, May 2014)! This was his fifth WPT cash (third largest cash of his career) and the second final table.
The next stop on the World Poker Tour is the PartyPoker WPT Montreal that runs from Nov. 29 - Dec. 5. We will keep you updated from start to finish on this event, so make sure to check our news section every day for the latest updates.
Both starting days of the 2013 World Poker Tour Caribbean Main Event in St. Maarten are in the books now and there are 107 of 191 players remaining. The overall chip leader is Ebony Kenney (picture) with 174,000 chips, and she will be joined to Day 2 by notables such as Marvin Rettenmaier (104,400), Mike Watson (45,500), Tobias Reinkemeier (25,800) and Will Failla (22,500).
We will be back with another brief update tomorrow (the prize pool should be announced by then).
