A poker tournament scheduled on Veterans Day in the United States (November 11, Sunday) in Gardena, California has been won by an unforeseen fellow. What’s intriguingly wonderful was that this fellow made an astonishing move – he donated all his wins to help support a noble cause.

Robert ‘Rob’ Reid is 52 years old and works as General Manager of two Gardena-based casinos called Hustler and Lucky Lady. Most of his time is spent behind the scenes of poker/casino tournaments than in front, but this time he figured he’d join in on the fun and entered the tournament. Rush Poker has been a huge success since it was introduced at Full Tilt Poker a couple of months ago. Now, Full Tilt Poker has taken Rush Poker a step further as it is now available in tournament mode as well. The Rush Poker tournaments can at the moment be played in the games Holdem and Omaha and up to 136 players can take part in single tournament. The Rush Poker tournaments are similar to a Rush Poker ring games. You can fold/quick fold and you will be moved to a new table in the blink of an eye. When less than 30 players are left in a Rush Poker tournament, the remaining tables will become short-handed. And when the tournament is down to the final table, it will be played like any other final table. In other words, more time to act and get to know your opponents. 

When NAPT (North American Poker Tour) makes a stop at The Venetian, Las Vegas, PokerStars will try a new type of HighRoller Bounty shootout tournament. The buy-in for the new tournament will be $25,000 of which $5000 will go to the bounty prize pool. In other words, if you knockout a player - you will get $5000. Anyhow, one player from each table (10 players - sit & go tables) will make it to the next table and fight for a piece of the prize pool. PokerStars will give the one who takes home the most bounty's extra $100,000.

According to PokerStars, the pros they have been talking to so far are very positive to the new tournament. And who knows, maybe EPT and WPT will start arranging similar tournaments if the turnout is good at the Venetian?
