Here's a short introduction about this season's teams, some predictions and betting advice!
Liverpool FC
Last season:
No one counted on Liverpool to challenge for the league title last year but after an impressive season with striker duo Suarez and Sturridge ripping the opponents defences apart they were really close to win the trophy but points loosed against. Chelsea and Crystal Palace at the end of the season turned out to be too heavy and Man City won the league only two points ahead of The Reds. Liverpool are now looking forward for a new exciting season with improving the defensive as the main priority.
2014/15-season preview:
Nobody can have missed Luis Suarez leaving Liverpool for Barcelona this summer. Experts disagree on what effect it will have to Liverpool and their chances in the Premier League. Some people mean that he made their whole season last year while others say he was that extra luxury to a solid team built by manager Brendan Rodgers. Who’s right we will see by the end of the season. It looks like the club has learned from the whole Torres/Carroll saga and choose to improve the whole squad this time rather than bringing in one expensive replacement for their star player. Incoming players are the three Southampton players Lallana, Lovren and Lambert together with Benfica winger Lazar Markovic, Leverkusen’s German U-21 man Emre Can and Spanish wing back duo Manquillo and Moreno from Atletico and Sevilla.
Player profile:
After being brought in during the January window of 2013 making an impact immediately Philippe Coutinho were standing in the shadows of Suarez, Sturridge and Sterling last season. Injuries and loss of form were some of the reasons for that but the technically gifted 23-year-old sometimes showed of his skills as well. This year competition will be harder come the arrival of Adam Lallana but with Champions League football coming back to Anfield there will be plenty of chances to get a game. Brendan Rodgers and the Liverpool fans are hoping that Coutinho together with Raheem Sterling are going to take the next step this season.
Summary:
Another turbulent summer with a lot of in-and outgoing business during the transfer window makes it hard to predict which way the season is going for Liverpool. Can Dejan Lovren become the defensive general missing and can players like Lallana and Markovic fill the void after Suarez it can be another positive season for the Reds. Another question is how the club will cope with playing in Europe this year. Another finish in the top four and new qualification for the Champions League should be a realistic aim for this season.
Prediction:
4th place
