Nicolai Hojgaard from Denmark made history when he won the Italian Open on Sunday, a week after his twin brother Rasmus won on the European Tour.
Nicolai performed exceptionally in Rome as he birdied the final hole to claim a one-shot victory against Tommy Fleetwood (England) and Adrian Meronk (Poland).
His win came exactly a week after Rasmus secured his own victory at the European Masters with a birdie for his third title.
Both at 20 years old, they are the first siblings to win back-to-back events on the tour.
Nicolai, who finished on 13-under after he carded a level-par final round of 71, said, "It means a lot. I've been grinding for a long time and seeing Rasmus win three times made me want to do it even more.
I'm very happy that Rasmus, his girlfriend and my girlfriend were around watching. I really appreciate it because I haven't been [able] with any of his wins to see him. I could only see him in the crowd. It really means a lot to me and it's just a very special day."
Seeking a first win since November 2019, Fleetwood shot a 71 to finish on 12 under. He said, "Fair play to Nicolai - there's obviously something very special happening with those brothers and that's going to be exciting in the future."
It is exciting to see your brother succeed you feel proud of your brother when he gets ahead on his own merits these two brothers we see that they are succeeding and that is very good because they to achieve where they are surely have gone through many moments of falls and rises but they succeeded and that is admired.

Nothing is luck, rather it is the sacrifice in spite that you put into things so that your goals go well for you, many times we think that it is luck but it is not like that, dedication and in spite of being the result of being successful in what you propose
