Lionel Messi made an assist and a goal that gave Argentina 2-0 at the start, however, substitute Wout Weghorst scored two late goals to make it 2-2 for Netherlands.
Both teams were unable to add to their tally in the extra time, forcing the match into a penalty shootout. In the end, Emiliano Martinez performed some heroic saves to help Argentina obtain a 4-3 win in the penalty shootout.
