FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 - Croatia and Argentina win at the Quarterfinals

A truly unexpected start to the World Cup quarterfinals!

Croatia won their 4th successive FIFA World Cup shootout against Brazil
Dominik Livakovic also made individual history in the quarterfinals

Five-time champion Brazil ultimately lost to Croatia in the quarterfinals of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Croatia has never won the tournament.


After the score was even after 120 minutes, Croatia managed to score a late extra-time equalizer then win 4-2 in a penalty shootout to upset the tournament favorites Brazil at the Education City Stadium.


The 2018 World Cup runner-up emerged victorious after beating Japan also on penalties during the Round of 16.

Referee Antonio Mateu called 48 fouls and gave out a record 17 yellow cards.
Lionel Messi made an assist to the younger generation player Nahuel Molina, who then scored his first-ever international goal.
Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez heroically blocked the first two Dutch attempts at the penalty kick shootout, and Argentina scored on its first three tries to win 2-2 (4-3)


Argentina defeats Netherlands 4-3 via penalty shootout during the quarterfinal match at Lusail Iconic Stadium and advances to the semifinals.

Lionel Messi made an assist and a goal that gave Argentina 2-0 at the start, however, substitute Wout Weghorst scored two late goals to make it 2-2 for Netherlands.


Both teams were unable to add to their tally in the extra time, forcing the match into a penalty shootout. In the end, Emiliano Martinez performed some heroic saves to help Argentina obtain a 4-3 win in the penalty shootout.

i really liked the game of argentina and the eggs they put to raise their heads after the tie at the last minute, on the other hand brazil was too much and did not liquidate in the 90 minutes, that happens a lot in this world cup. deserved qualification of croatia.

if argentina want to pass in final,then must do everything in regular time or extra time!if they come till penalties,I think that they will have less chances then croatia!we can see how they did solve last two games on penalties and seems that they are much better in that section then other teams,especially when goalkeeper make saves like that!

I'm thinking about this Argentina-Croatia match and I can't come up with anything sensible because every scenario is possible, including extra time and penalty kicks... If Croatia gets to penalties, they will be a big favorite in them, because they have a good goalkeeper, and they take almost penalty kicks perfect....

Soccer maybe Argentina has it a little more for Messi because he can make a feint, a pass, a different unexpected shot that unbalances Croatia, hopefully he will get physical and his goalkeeper will continue fine in a penalty shootout.

I made today bet on argentina because I think that I better in this moment,but ofcourse it was same situation with brasil,so you can know what can be on end!its not sure for any bet on this world cup!just can hope that it will be good game for watching and to see lot of goals if I can guess right score for this competition!

I don't know what to think about this match anymore... it seems to me that Argentina should win, but Croatia is unpredictable... I've already changed the score three times and I still can't decide what score to bet on... for 5 matches Croatia won only one match and reached the semi-finals...

thats the problem,they won only one game in regular game,didnt score many goals,have three games with 0:0 and what to think for tonight!how they can score?I think that only chance for them are penalties,like they had luck with that late goal 117. minute and then on penalties it was easier for them!
