On Monday, the wheels stopped on a $1.2 million prize pool for the first time in Spin & Go history on PokerStars! The three handed $5 buy-in tournament lasted less than 15 minutes and Russia's "sss66666" ended up getting the biggest slice of the prize pool, 1,000,000 US dollars!
The other two players received $100,000 each, so they probably weren't that disappointed with what they had won in [...] Read more » Russian Wins $1 million in $5 Spin & Go!

Sunday Million & Russia that is a wicked way to make an example Since russia isnt rly a rich country and sunday million is one of the most expensive turneys on PS.
Ussualy at cheaper buy in turney tables there are 5+ russians out of 9 players so thats where it is all coming from, u wont remember another country player win more often against you then a russian since it seem there are 50% russians on stars and 50% other countries.
Checked minimum wage stats of 2012: Minimum wage in russia in 2012 is just 77 eur... (sunday million, yea right check the 100k rather than that. or up to 1$ buy ins
imo has nothing to do with + or - luck based on country, its just the amount of people of one country that make up for the "always" russian winner ...

I am Russian, therefore I see it as my solemn duty to jump into every thread which has "Russia(n)" in its title to defend my compatriots.

Are you aware how large is the share of those (including Russians), who crawl into this tourney via cheap satellites?

Anyway, I've made an addition for this purpose - "or any other regular tourney". I mentioned Sunday Million only because it is easier to track.

Oh, come on... You can't base your judgement on this statistical bs. The minimum wage is attributed to rural dwellers which live by land. They don't play on Poker Stars. They don't have internet, as a matter of fact. Those who play on Poker Stars, live in the cities and earn much more than that. I don't know a single person around who makes as little as 77 EUR per month. My 10-year old son makes more selling his old toys and stuff on the internet auction.

i resonate with this russian rant from my own experience on 888. they call with everything, no matter stack, situation, position, prize pool etc. and they hit right when is least expected, transforming your 3hrs+ stack ashes to dust in one move, which seemed in your favor before dueling a russian noob. and this style is to be found at most of them. there must be a poker school like their driving school. no brakes, no fold, call everything.
i would love to see the entire spin and go match and see how million was won by a russian. guessing between traces of skill/luck or insane confidence/call everything will pick the second.

ugh, now thats a decent RoI booster
seriously now, if i were to win a million one day , i would donate at least $30 to charity or some other good cause. heck me being myself (as in being so generous and awesome), it would probably be closer to $40 even.

Well Russian or not, i am happy for him + the 2nd and 3rd prize were insanely awesome too, three minutes for 100.000$+, every gamblers dream. I think they were all like WOOOOOOOOOW when prize pool hit on them, started trembling with sparking eyes and yelled out YEAAAAAAH, F**K YEAAAAAH calling whoever was next to them to watch...

I was just playing the sundy weekly round two on Ppokerstaars. This time it was pot limit Omaha high/low - that is what I really love. But I went out early loosing against a very loose russian big stack. The russians always beat me.

it had to be Russian since most of the players are Russians i really hope that they won't make him suffer to get his prize the government will want a piece of that and pokerstars will find every possible reason not to pay him 100 K is also a life changing amount , so the losers are also winners

I agree with schmoyster in that Russians are the worst players. I actually love playing with Russians (including ex USSR) I really hate playing against Canadians and South Americans - they are the ones that do the fucked up moves - but every country I agree has there moments....even I shove all in behind and win
