pretty sure the money isn't in germany anymore, probably lebanon. i think they knew, that their only chance not to go to prison was staying in lebanon, so they decided to go to jail for a while and then get the money. what would you prefer? a life in lebanon with 50k or something or go to prison in germany for a few years and then try to get the money (armed robbery means 3-15 years in germany and as they came to the police theirself it will be probably be at the lower range, plus a part of the time usually is on parole)

btw. these guys must be really stupid: one of them got arrested when the police was called to a subwaystation, because there was some kind of brawl going on. he was involved in it. how stupid can someone be? robbing a quarter million and then starting fights in public? couldn't make it easier for the cops. well intelligent criminals would probably have robbed a million and nobody would ever find out who it was.

good that they caught all of them but it might be hard for them to find out where they have kept the money. they can easily claim that they spend it all and use it later when they are released

Cool, if this storey is true then they didnt last very long did they..! just go's to prove criminals are stupid. if you cant earn a decent living and turn to day light robbery you'll come a cropper sooner or later. Good. Just have to wait till they make a film of it. "The Great Poker Robbery" (that turned out to be not that great). At least it might make people think before doing a similar stunt and try and rob the poor poker players...
