tbh he said 4 out 10 you would win he never said win more, also not alot seem to be thinking about you are a short stack and you going to triple up if you do call!! most cases you win and you got a decent stack to play with. Fold you have to stick it in with a hand not as good you got less chips than you had before and maybe only get a double up leaving you with not much money than you had when you folded As Big Smile Someone said about the time they folded then got to the FT well really you must of just got really lucky to start getting hands better than As Big Smile after you folded them

Really this is prob are you happy with a min cash or you go for the win as folding As when your short stack to a raise and a re raise i dont believe is ever the right thing to do in a normal tourney not sat ect.

I would also add if i was not a short stack and i was 3rd in the chips and the same thing happened with 1st and 2nd in the chips before me im sticking all my chips in to because its the hand that could win you the tourney in a way

The equity argument isn't utter crap.

Exemple with some hands on pokerstove :

Board:
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 54.582% 54.10% 00.48% 460251 4057.90 { AcAd }
Hand 1: 13.708% 13.66% 00.05% 116208 405.40 { QhJh }
Hand 2: 03.932% 03.40% 00.54% 28892 4554.90 { AsKc }
Hand 3: 09.576% 09.47% 00.11% 80557 902.40 { KdKh }
Hand 4: 18.202% 18.15% 00.05% 154434 405.40 { 8d8h }

Got all the typical hands. AA still has 54% to win in a 5 players pot.

no i wouldnt i always go for the win,
it more profitable to go for the win than place money in the long run,
b1gfoot or doomdy can vouch for this there winning players too Smile
after all its only 1 buyin Blink

oh by the way people who would fold aces pre flop are losing players overall imo.........
take the hint from a winning poker player Blink

ALWAYS GO FOR THE WIN Smile Smile Smile

Yep, not going for the win in a tournament is stupid IMO. Even with 0.1 BB on the bubble, I would never fold aces, because all you need is a chip and a chair...

i would only consider this option in a sattelite tourney anywhere else youd prolly see me shove all-in preflop even if the payouts are close Thumbs Up Blink

Tough one, but in all honesty, there is only one percent i would fold that hand, and a lot of things would have to happen even for that one percent.

If it is a tourney, i surely wouldn't settle for some small prize so i would attack no matter what.. Money is of less importance.. If it was a regular SNG and a bubble play, i would surely call, even if i lose, who cares? It wouldn't be the first time and if i win, great, bigger chance to do something more.

Only situation i would fold it is possibly a double or nothing, on the 800/400 level, with one guy being forced to play (stack lower than 800) and he got 2 callers already and i am like 50 chips left or something.. So even if i win i could win 300 chips at best.. In that case i would fold and just say screw it.. Hope the other guys will take care of bizz Smile
