I would call in this situation holding AK. Definitely.
Today it's my worst SnG day ever! My opponents complete even most unbelievable draws, the river is always the winner for them, I almost tilted... It's really incredible how strong you have to be not to tilt in such situation... 10 games in a row with the same scenario. I have to make myself a break now.

For the poll effect i choosed to call but i think that, if you are having that kind of hand a lot of times, its time to experience and make the play in another way. Although its not a typical hand to do that, why don't you try to go all in first, or at least to make a bigger bet. For the hand you described, you can be already playing at a good money level. KK on hand its to go all in pre flop and you have got to accept that, he is 68% chance of taking the pot at pre-flop. Start folding your AK, you will fell better when you win the next pot!

yeah yesterday in BM freeroll 24/135 players left. I was 21/24 6k chips and I wanted to steal blinds with AK. I did all in and was called by AA. that was game over.

I can understand your problems with this hand.. I have the same problems.. i never hit that A or the King.. but finally it's an easy call and I think one day the Aces will show up on the flop - just keep playing "correct" and you'll win the pots ggood luck!!

It all depends on other peoples stacks. If you are the short stack on the table, you HAVE to play AK there, and I wouldnt even advise just the min raise. You should simply shove and hope to either steal the blinds or double up. If you are planning on raising blind vs blind and you are the SB, remember that you will be acting first and will be at a huge disadvantage. If all of the stacks were virtually even you may want to fold there if making 3rd place money was important to your bankroll. Tournaments are really all about finishing in the money and most of the time you will not do so. (This is also why playing for 1st is usually the only correct way to play as this is where the money really is.)
I always Call A,K, I just start and i`m playing short stack strategy .. I see A,K and always think its good hand I can win, in low limits its good because people going to all-in with pair 7,7 or smth and i`m just fish
hmmm A K is a really nice hand ,, normally you are in lead with this hand before flop ,, it may be that there is someone with a pair like 10 10 , J J or Q Q and raises all in but there are sooooo much players that raise A Q or A J all in at the fishy sites that you had to call it !!!

Posted by Fisto: AK is 14th best preflop hand after 22-AA. It's a coinflip with any 22-QQ and you are ahead vs Ax and anything he can resteal you. Call and nothing else
14th best starting hand!? Rubbish! Statistically, I believe it is the 4th best starting hand in terms of eventual victories after AA, KK & QQ.
That being said, I would probably fold, unless I was short stacked. I would rather cash then rely on the odds. I like money....

Posted by SuperNoob: i never go allin with Ak, unless i'm sure opponent doesn't have pair. Ak is a calling hand not allin. so always a fold for me but if he's a bully i might consider calling. u just got unlucky
Whoa,a calling hand, right. When u have AK you should flat call
