Poker helped Newcastle United to the top

Newcastle United is the most successful football team so far this year in the England Championship (The divison under Premier Leauge). Newcastle's great success this season is of course thanks to hard training, its football players, coach and lots of other things. However, poker has also played a very important roll according to Kevin Nolan from Newcastle United.

Kevin says that its thanks to poker that the team can relax and have fun together after and before the games. Kevin thinks that this has brought the team much closer together and that the team spirit and winner instinct has improved a lot since they started playing poker.

Oh my... I didn't even know they were out of PL. I guess that's why I haven't seen them play on TV for a long time now.

The should play online. Football player have money and I think they must not be so good playing poker. We need layer like this on our online tables hahaha. Big Smile

I'd say it had more to do with them getting relegated last season than anything else. Its not that hard to be top of a league when you're miles better than everyone else in it and shouldn't really be in it at all Big Smile

I must admit that your theory sounds a 'little' bit more realstic to me. Tongue
But its nice to know that professional football players enjoy playing poker, all in all its good publicity for poker.
I hope to see them back into Premier League next season.

Dont think so.
Newcastle are good in that division coz the rest of the teams suck thats why they are winning more nothing to do with the poker playing....
I wonder what sort of side bets you get going on when the people playing are payed so much
