Poker legend Doyle Brunson was eliminated from the WSOP Main event on Day 1b which was played on Saturday.

Doyle, who is now 75 years old won the Main event back in 1976 and 1977 have cashed twice in this years WSOP but have not added any bracelets to his collection. When he finished 7th in the $10K buy in Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo event it was his best finish in a WSOP event since 2007.

Doyle was one of the 873 players who started playing on Saturday. the reason why the number of players was so low is the fact that it clashed with the 4th of July celebrations for some of the players.

Doyle was not the only Main event champ who was sent packing from Day 1b. 2003 main event champ Chris Moneymaker was also eliminated early on.

Yep, sad but true, scotty still has a shoot and Liv Boeree had her AA crushed by Q9s.
Lots of big names sent to the rails early.

Its sad to watch Doyle going away so soon. He is one of those figures wich gives more quality to the tournament, just for being present. "- I went to a tournament. - Yeah,so? - Doyle was there... - Ahhh..."
Big Smile
But i am sure there will be plenty more other years to watch him play at WSOP!

Doyle Brunson is a good player and has a lot of experience but personally, I think that nowadays there are better players than him. Chris Moneymaker for me is not one of them!
