Mob Members Help Donate $1,043 To Haiti

Tags: BankrollMob, Charity, Haiti, Mob Points.
Posted on 22 January 2010 by "K".

During the past week, a total of 122 Mob members stepped up and donated a total of $543 for our Haiti Charity project. Add that to the $500 donated by BankrollMob and the total donation ends up at $1,043!

The money has now been forwarded to CARE through Google crisis response:

CARE plans to start food distributions using stocks of high-protein biscuits from CARE warehouses in Haiti. CARE has 133 staff who are on the ground coordinating with U.N. agencies and other aid organizations to gather more detailed information about the damage and will rapidly scale up response based on those assessments.

We want to thank all of you who took part and donated some of your Mob Points to this charity. Obviosuly we hope that we don't have to organize a similar fundraising in the future.

If you wish to make further donations, you can find more information at the Google link above.

It's great to see that some members were willing to give up a couple of points to help improve the situation for someone who really needs it.

thanks to everyone who clicked away their points. But TBH, I'm am really really dissapointed in the result. This was such a horrible thing that happened, would be anyway, but happening in Haiti of all places compounds the devestation beyond comprehension. Given the amount of BRM members and the fact BRM themselves kicked it off with $500 I thought we'd get it so much higher than that. Look at the amount of members at top of page and imagine if each just clicked a 1$

Anyway, great job to all those that helped.

And a massive Hats off to BRM who are the real ones putting up the money. And +1 to the poster who came up with the idea Smile

Always nice to see people helping each other.
But people you're looking at the numbers ...
Members: 184,099
I am sure like half or even much more of that people are inactive accounts... or people who log once for a very long period of time...
Half of the rest don't read forum or read it very rarely... so the numbers lie sometimes.
 buhay23/01/2010 15:14:39 GMT
