durrrr challenge: Another session has been played

Posted on 28 January 2010 by "T".

After a few weeks break, it was finally time for Tom Dwan and Patrik Antonius to continue the battle last night. During 4 hours, they managed to play 1230 hands. Even though it was a quite long session, it wasn't as much action as many hoped for. The biggest pot this night landed on around $120,000 and was won by Tom Dwan. However, it came to be Patrik Antonius who ended up plus $5,983 in the end of the day.

This result doesn't change a lot in the durrrr challenge. Dwan still has a big lead ($878,000) and there is still 19,000 hands to be played. Ladies and gentlemen, it seems like we will have to wait a few more months (at least) before this challenge comes to an end and we have a winner.

Nah, I don't think Antonius will be able to turn things around. Too bad, because I hate Dwan with every fiber of my being

With this solid lead Dwan can try to bring this thing home by trying to keep the pots small. And it looks like he just did it in this session.

In 19K hands many things can happen. A few monster pots can turn this upside down, and they happen from time to time. But the most probable is that the maniac chip spewer ultra-extreme luckbox wins this.

Actually, just a couple of average big pots can change the situation... or maybe 4 monsters...

Anyway, that whole challenge thing is so interessting for me Smile It was about Durrrr will play more challenge in 2009, against more people, but they started the challenge with Antonius and that's not over, and Antonius just the 1st people in that Durrrr challenge Smile How many years that will take ? i think too many people dont give tom enough credit on his brilliant plays he makes. he plays hands like no one else ive ever seen and makes them win.

2 players decide to play really a lot hands and its take a long way to end they session hope Patrik Antonius will take the lead and win this battle because for me his play is more cleverer then Tom Dwan but in over hand maybe Tom refresh his play and no play more solid after the 2009 end the most loosers becomer Sad

so maybe after few months we will know who win this Smile
good luck all

seems like this session hasn't made any changes in this challenge, still Antonious is my favorite, but looks like durrrr is dominating now.

Durrrr increased his lead by a bit more now, so far he has the momentum. Just watched the biggest live poker pot played by durrrr and ivey. Pretty crazy. like 1.1mil in the pot in a live cash game o.O.

 SuperNoob31/01/2010 14:20:38 GMT
few months !!!!!!
they are playing so slowly, i reckon it'll be a couple of years before it ends.
still a long way to go and way these players play, 800k isn't a much big deal
 Doomsday_vic31/01/2010 16:08:16 GMT
If only Durrr played like he did vs islidur1, the challenge would have been long over. Its going to take another year before this challenge ends by the looks of it
