According to Asian Poker Tour and Resorts World, the largest buy-in tournament ever held in Asia will be played at Resorts World Manila's Genting Club on April 20 - one day before the APT Philippines Main Event begins.

The buy-in for the Super High Roller will be HKD$1,000,000 (USD$129,000) and big names such as Phil Ivey and Tom Dwan have already confirmed their participation. The organizers are expecting a field of around 25-30 players to take part in the tournament.

In February PokerStars announced that the Macau Millions Series has been postponed indefinitely, so the Super High Roller tournament in the Philippines might be a good alternative for many Macau high-stakes regulars.

Whoa, USD$ 129,000 is pretty big! Biggest buy in tournament for Asia but what about the rest of the world? I heard there was a $250k tournament

With a 30 player field in a $129k buy-in tourney, these guys must expect a first place of around $1M. They say it is the largest buy-in tourney ever held in Asia, but there many of this size in the rest of the world, so it’s an event that any high stakes pro should miss. Will we watch Blom sit right beside durrr? It’s possible, and it sure would be nice.

Ah, huge buy-in!

I wonder what Phil Ivery and Tom Dwan's bankrolls look like nowadays Big Smile FTP isn't there to pay their buy-ins anymore Blink

Phil Ivey has good chances to win this though, he's definetly one of the best MTT players out there Smile Good luck to them!

i don't know if 129000 of green paper is very big buy in for ivey and dwan, i think they win/lose more in high stakes cash games in macau, probably they will take part only because of some sort of sponsorship agreements, or sth similar- but hey the action is switching towards east hey?

Hello mates "129000 of green paper" it's pennies compared with " The Big One for One Drop ", the $1 million buy-in event to be held at this summer’s WSOP, 22 players have committed to play in the tournament already. Good luck to them!
